Summary: Have you ever wondered "Why" things happen. Hopefully this passage out of John Chapter 9 will help answer those questions.

In the new book I have coming out in late December “Failing Doesn’t Mean You’re a Failure” one theme rings true throughout the book. The theme pertains to the first part of John Chapter 9.

John 9:1-3 “As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.”

How many times in life have you failed and you think that you failed because YOU did something wrong? Then you start to feel guilty. The more you feel guilty the less you want to try again. What if, just what if you saw your life as God sees it.

What did I do to deserve cancer? “This happened so that the work of God might be displayed in your life”.

Why did I lose my job? “This happened so that the work of God might be displayed in your life”.

Why can’t I afford rent? “This happened so that the work of God might be displayed in your life”.”

Why do I feel like I cannot go on? “This happened so that the work of God might be displayed in your life”.

Why did my spouse leave me? “This happened so that the work of God might be displayed in your life”.

Why do I have an addictive nature? “This happened so that the work of God might be displayed in your life”.

Today many things will happen to you, some good and some bad. One thing is for sure NOTHING catches God off guard. His plan for you is perfect even when you feel at your lowest. When you are at your lowest God can build you back up better than you ever were before. So please hang in there and don’t lose hope because God is at work in your heart. Just get back off the canvas when you get knocked down and God will do the rest.

There are some things that happen to us because of our sin but for the most part things happened because God desires to be real in our life. He desires that we depend upon Him instead of the world. If you are asking why today just think that:

“This happened so that the work of God might be displayed in your life”.

Please try to live with expectant hope and not despair. God is at work in YOU!!!
