Summary: Miracles reveal God's dominion that has come to overthrow the present evil.

Deuteronomy 4: 32

Ask now about the former days, long before your time, from the day God created man on the earth; ask from one end of the heavens to the other. Has anything so great as this ever happened, or has anything like it ever been heard of? 33 Has any other people heard the voice of God speaking out of fire, as you have, and lived? 34 Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by miraculous signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes? 35 You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides him there is no other.

1. God's miracles were used to validate His power.

Miracles have always been the evidence of the God on the earth.

Miracles are not for attracting believers to big meetings.

Miracles are to show that another authority is present on the earth.

Luke 11:20

But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.

His miracles were a sign.

They indicated the permanent establishment of the KOG on the earth.

Miracles cannot be explained by science or the laws of nature.

Miracles break into our world and offer awesome evidence of God's rule.

2. God is not subservient to His own creation, including natural laws.

Exodus 15: 11

"Who among the gods is like you, O LORD? Who is like you--majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?

Miracles reveal the dominion that has come to overthrow the present evil.

Acts:4:29 (Peter and John after being released)

Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. 30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus."

Miracles are power flowing from the Kingdom of God through our spirits and out into our world.

The Kingdom Of God is an earthly manifestation of the supernatural.

Miracles are necessarily connected to it.

Miracles are necessary parts of the revelation of God.

They clarify in a way stronger than language can, that the supernatural is real.

If the Bible did not contain statements of miracles, then its ability to be believed regarding the prophetic prediction of the second coming of Christ, would be greatly diminished.

The forces in nature cannot, without the presence of the miraculous, accomplish what we are told will happen at the Second Coming.

If there is no direct testimony, then where is the evidence of the power of the supernatural?

The truth is, without miracles the Kingdom cannot be revealed.

1. Miracles are assurances that the kingdom has come.

2. Miracles prove that the natural world is completely under God’s control.

3. Miracles are how the spiritual world is communicated in this world.

Miracles are essential:

1. To reveal God’s divine purpose

2. to supply the necessary evidence

Here is a Spiritual Truth:

Laws exist outside of what we call “the known”.

That’s the part men don’t like.

God can use those laws whenever He chooses.

1. Miracles give credibility to God’s servants.

Acts 2:22

Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.

2. Miracles give proof of God’s presence in the lives of God’s servants.

John 3:2

He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him."

The Kingdom Of God, as the product of the supernatural, demands miracles.

1. The Scriptures can never, never be fulfilled without miracles.

2. The earth can never, never be freed from its curse without miracles.

3. Man can never, never be delivered without miracles.

Faith and hope in the God require belief in the miraculous.

At the same time, miracles strengthen our faith, and increase our hope.
