Summary: Who would want to read the book of the chronicles in the middle of the night? All I can say is, the king was made to read by an invisible divine force!

Esther 6: 1 “That night the king could not sleep. So one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.”

Won’t God do something? He would! Read on! Chapter 6 begins with “THAT NIGHT” Which night? The night before Haman planned to kill Mordecai! When Haman was plotting to kill the man of God, Mordecai, God was awake! I tell you, this is thrilling! The king ordered one of his servants to his royal library to get the “Book of the Chronicles.” Who would want to read the book of the chronicles in the middle of the night? All I can say is, the king was made to read by an invisible divine force! The king heard the word ‘Mordecai’ and read about his good deeds and decides to honor him the next morning. The king is extremely impatient to honor Mordecai!

Imagine, someone waiting at the door step to handover your promotion slip! As you scroll down the scriptures, verse 4 says “So the king said, "Who is in the court?" Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the king's palace to suggest that the king hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him. The king's servants said, "Haman is there, standing in the court." And the king said, "Let him come in." Friend, read and enjoy these verses! I’m so excited when I read the Bible, that at times I smile to myself and if it is too good then, I make loud expressions. When I read the above scripture, I shouted, ‘fantastic!’

Let me say a little about the background so that you can rejoice too! Haman hated Mordecai because he refused to salute him. Haman’s proud heart was injured, so he plots to kill him. He had constructed a 75 ft. gallows to hang Mordecai and walks in jubilantly into the office of the king. Just then, he hears the king call out, ‘Who is in the court ?’ Phew! God’s timing is impeccable! Haman is summoned by the king to honor Mordecai, verse 10 says, "Hurry, take the robe and the horse, as you have suggested, and do so for Mordecai the Jew who sits within the king's gate! Leave nothing undone of all that you have spoken." God used the very enemy of Mordecai who plotted to kill him to honor him. “He will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies!” (Psalm 23:5) Who said “God has forgotten you?” Never! His plans for you would unfold at the right time using the right people! People who jeered and mocked at you, will now see His glory in your life! Give Him a shout of praise!

Maybe you’ve helped somebody at work, maybe in the church, may be in the ministry and no one noticed or even thanked you for it. May be you did the right thing and somebody else got the credit. You feel nobody cares? You feel nobody notices? You’re wrong! When nobody seems to notice… God does! There were times, I would fast and wrestle in prayers with the Lord for a particular family to be united. But when that happens, people never even bother to come back to you with the good news. We live in an ungrateful world. But God knows it all! I think that’s enough! Let me ask you this…how many of you believe that God can divinely intervene in your life? He is watching over your life! He is the lifter of your head! You would be above and not beneath! Amen.

Psalm 56:8” You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book?”
