Summary: This is a challenging sermon really for any age though designed for youth to realize the importance of the human condition and need for the work of the cross in our lives.
You are not your own
A. The Facts
1. Romans 1:19-20 We have to make a choice, God has given us all the facts
2. Romans 3:10 We know we are sinful, and need a Savior
3. John 14:6 We know Jesus is the Only Way to God
4. Romans 10:9 We know Jesus is the only way to be Saved
a. Romans 5:10 We are saved from being His enemy
b. Galatians 4:7 We are now Sons and Heirs
B. The Response
1. Acts 2:37-38/ Hebrews 4:12 After being cut, we need to repent and be baptized
a. 1 John 1:9 Confess & agree that which has been done is wrong and stop IT!!
b. 1 Peter 3:21 Baptism is more than ritual cleansing, but the pledge of a good will toward God
C. The Condition
1. 1 Corinthians 6:19,20 We gave up control to our body
2. Romans 12:2 The process starts with the mind
3. 2 Corinthians 5:17 It continues in our bodies
4. Joshua 1:8 It is a commitment to learn the facts
5. 2 Corinthians 12:9 Realize you are powerless to do it on your own
a. story: many people say I want to be better first.
D. The Result
1. John 3:16 You will have life ever-lasting
2. Ephesians 1:7 We are forgiven
3. Galatians 3:13-14 We are blessed beyond the Curse
4. Romans 10:14-17 God will put the seed of the Word in you to cause faith
5. 1 Corinthians 3:6 God will make you Grow
