Summary: The problem isn’t believing God can do the impossible, it’s believing God will do the impossible for us! Gods ability is not in question! Our ability to believe is!

You don’t need any more...

That's kind of an edgy phrase huh? Many have said those words, many have heard those words, from children to the elderly and said "what do you mean?" I'll be the one who decides when I have enough! I want more!

In our appetite for life, what gives us the right to feel like we are entitled or deserve anything in the first place?

Believe me, I think if you'll look around you would agree, it certainly isn't the world we live in. More and more everyday we see how It's a dog eat dog world out there, isn't it? But somehow we still feel like we deserve to live a decent life.

A decent life, is that all you think you deserve? That’s what the accuser has society convinced of. I must say, I like Gods way of thinking much better! You see, God says we deserve to have an "ABUNDANT LIFE!"

The accuser with societies help, likes to make everyone think we are entitled to the same kind of life. All is equal, with rationed portions, no better or no less! Which is a less than mediocre kind of life at best.

If that line of thinking were true, how’s come we have a generation or two who has been given everything, still wants more and is still unhappy with what they have?

God is the only one who has truthfully and faithfully ever given us anything, without expectation or guarantee in return.

God has given and gives us love, life, health, provision, hope and everything else anyone could think of, to help us be successful.

All we have to do is believe He did, He does and will continue to do so! See the thing is, God doesn’t need any help with His distribution plan, He has given everyone across the board, undeniable access to the same unlimited amount of resources.

The question is, are you using what God has already given to you?

Sad fact is, far to many aren’t using the availability of the resources they have been given. They keep using self effort and continue to search for what they think they need, instead of using what God has already given to them.

Illus.

A man fell off a cliff, but managed to grab a tree limb on his way down. “Is anyone up there?” he cried out. “I am here, I am the Lord, do you believe me?” the voice said. “Yes, Lord I believe, I really believe, but I can’t hang on much longer.” “If you really believe you will be alright, I will save you, just let go of the branch.” The man paused for a moment then said, “is there anyone else up there?”

Isn't that just like human nature? God has given us His word and promised time and time again to take care of us abundantly and human nature still looks for an alternate route, or an alternate message.

When the only thing we have to do to receive His care, is to trust God that He will do what He says He will do.

Romans 12:3 NKJ

3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith

Luke 17:5-6 NKJ

5 And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”

6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

Here we see two references to faith. The first one says that God has given us a measure of faith. That includes everyone, no one a larger measure or a smaller amount. But everyone receiving the same amount, a measure.

What is a measure? A measure is more than enough what ever amount it is, because it’s Gods standard of faith! If God created the universe with the span of His hand, I think we can rest in the fact, a measure of faith is enough!

The second one says that, If we use the tiniest amount of the measure of faith we have been given, we can do miraculous things!

Mark 11:22-23 NKJ

22. So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.

23. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

The problem isn’t believing God can do the impossible, it’s believing God will do the impossible for us! Gods ability is not in question! Ours is!
