Summary: Allow the Holy Spirit to reignite the passion in your life of telling others about Jesus
Key Scripture for series: Ezekiel 20:47-48 (Msg)
Tell the forest of the south, “Listen to the Message of God! God, the Master, says, I’ll set a fire in you that will burn up every tree, dead trees and live trees alike. Nobody will put out the fire. The whole country from south to north will be blackened by it. Everyone will see that I, God, started the fire and that it’s not going to be put out.”
We have all been given a passion to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the world that so desperately is seeking for answers. To many of us it has grown cold and we need God to come and reignite our fire and passion for the lost. The source of ignition in the lives of believers is the Holy Spirit. Over the next four weeks we are going to be looking at what it means to be ignited for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
• When you ignite others’ faith in Jesus by telling them about Him, your faith will grow deeper
• Joh 9:25 (ESV) He answered, “Whether he is a sinner, I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see
Jesus had healed a man that had been blind from birth. The disciples asked Him who had committed sin, if it was his own or his parents. Jesus replied to them that it was neither his sin nor his parents, but that God’s power could be displayed through him and Jesus then went on to explain that while it is day, He must do the works of God, because night time was approaching. Jesus then called the man and spat on the ground and made mud with the saliva. He then sent the man to wash in the pool of Siloam and when he came back, he could see. Jesus did this miracle on the Sabbath and according to the law; you were not permitted to do any work on the Sabbath except if it was good works such as healing.
• The most power tool that God will use to lead anyone to Him and a saving knowledge of Jesus is my testimony.
Rev 12:11 (Msg)
They defeated him through the blood of the Lamb and the bold word of their witness. They weren’t in love with themselves; they were willing to die for Christ.
Your message that you share with other people is unique because you are unique.
THREE WAYS YOU CAM USE YOUR STORY TO CHANGE THE WORLD
1. Confirm your story
I write these things to you who believe in the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
John is in essence saying that our story must confirm that we know Jesus and that through this knowledge we have eternal life.
2. Complete my story
1 Pet 3:15 (Msg)
Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you’re living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy.
3. Commit your story to God
But I don't place any value on my own life. I want to finish the race I'm running. I want to carry out the mission I received from the Lord Jesus-the mission of testifying to the Good News of God's kindness.
We should live our stories and not just become convenient Christians. People who are living convenient lives are not the type of people God wants. He wants us to live by faith and allow His Holy Spirit to ignite a fire within you because your story can impact and change the world.
