Summary: The moment we are born again God establishes a Trust Fund for us. But so many of us are not accessing it.. Why?

How many of you know that God has given us an inheritance? Every promise that God has identified in His Word belongs to us — and it belongs to us now.

Physical and emotional healing. It’s ours now.

Our needs being met financially. It’s ours now.

Every prayer answer. It’s ours now.

But, for most of us, our inheritance is waiting for us in a Trust Fund. And this is particularly true when it comes to getting all our prayers answered.

You know how a Trust Fund works. When children (heirs) are young and immature, their parents set aside a portion of their wealth into a Trust Fund for them. The heirs will be able to access the Trust Fund when they reach a predetermined age of maturity set by the parents. At that point, the contents of the Trust Fund are distributed to the heirs over a period of time that is also predetermined by the parents. Sound familiar?

We are heirs of the God who created heaven and earth. Romans 8:17 says we are joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. When we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior of our lives, we became a joint heir with him in the kingdom of God We don’t live in Satan’s kingdom anymore. We have been delivered from the power of darkness. We don’t have to live by Satan’s rules unless we choose to do so.

Turn to Colossians 1 and we’re going to read verses 12 and 13.

(12) Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

(13) Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.

Everything that Jesus had available to him as a son in the family of God when He was here on earth we now have available to us as sons and daughters in the family of God here on earth. When Jesus was here he accessed his Trust Fund. Blind eyes were opened. The lame walked. Multitudes were fed. The dead were raised. The deaf heard. Answered prayer.

Ladies and gentlemen, opening blind eyes is in our Trust Fund. Healing lame legs is in our Trust Fund. Feeding the multitude is in our Trust Fund. Raising the dead is in our Trust Fund. The deaf hearing is in our Trust Fund. Answered prayer, every single one of them, is in our Trust Fund. Do you believe we have a Trust Fund like this? I do.

From the time he was a child studying the law until He began His public ministry when He was 30 years old, the Word of God says Luke 2:52 says Jesus grew and matured in the knowledge of his Father.

? That’s why Jesus says in John 10:30 “I and my Father are one.”

? That’s why Jesus says in John 14:9 “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.”

? That’s why Jesus says in John 4:34 “My meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work.”

? That’s why Jesus says in John 5:30 “I can of my own self do nothing.”

? That’s why Jesus also says in John 5:30 “I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father that hath sent me”

Jesus knew His Father intimately. In these statements Jesus was saying “If My Father were here Himself, what you see me do is what He would do.” Do you know your Father the way Jesus knees him?

When we ware born again we enter the family of God as spiritual babies and at that very moment our Trust Fund is established. The same Trust Fund our Father gave to Jesus, He has given to us. Sadly, 5, 10, 15, and sometimes 20 years later, many of us are still spiritual babies. Oh, we think we have grown up during this time. But if we compare our thoughts, our desires and our motivations to what we see in Jesus, most are not the same. We really haven’t grown up at all. And yet, we want God to give us access to our Trust Fund simply because we’ve been in the family for a number of years.

God’s Trust Fund doesn’t operate the ways man’s Trust Fund operates.. Access to the Trust Fund set up by our Heavenly Father is not determined by how old we are spiritually. God does not determine when we gain access to our Trust Fund. Now listen to me: each one of us determines when we can access our Trust Fund.

Just because we have been around a long time and seen at family gatherings does not mean we are ready for the Trust Fund our Fathers wants to entrust to us. Christians are good at hanging around and being seen. So let me say this again: we determine when we gain access to our Trust Fund.
