Come and See: Principles for Evangelism
by Devin Hudson

It is perhaps the Christian’s greatest fear. What is it? personal evangelism, sharing one’s faith with another person. After all, I may not know what to say. They might ask me a question I cannot answer. I might fail. I am not gifted in evangelism. That’s the pastor’s job, isn’t it? I am afraid. Indeed, witnessing is one of the most neglected commands in all of Scripture. While Bible reading and prayer are also disregarded by the average Christian, I dare to say that witnessing has to be the least practiced of the Christian disciplines.

Evangelism: It’s What We Do
by Tom Shepard

The Martins move into my neighborhood every spring. They show up about the middle of March and spend the summer with me. I enjoy having them around. They make a long trip you know? They fly in from South America. Spend the summer up here and fly back South before winter hits. They have been doing this for centuries. They come north for one reason – to build a family. Of course what I am talking about are Purple Martins.

Effective Evangelism: Witnessing, Soulwinning
by Jerry Shirley

Do you know anyone who cannot sit still? They always have to be doing something. Even when sitting, their motor is running [leg shaking]! The Apostle Paul was like that…he always had to be preaching or witnessing or discipling or visiting. He could have settled down comfortably in the large church at Antioch, but he didn’t…not as long as there were more people who needed to be reached, he had “itchy feet.”

Evangelism as a Lifestyle
by Dean O’Bryan

A cartoon pictures a medieval Crusader, standing in full armor and holding his shield. He also held his long sharp spear at the throat of a prisoner on the ground. The prisoner on the ground struggles to say, “Tell me more about your Christianity. I’m terribly interested!” That’s kind of the picture lots of Christians and non-Christians have of what we’ll talk about.

Christ’s Principles of Evangelism
by Paul Fritz

“It is easy to determine when something is aflame. It ignites other material. Any fire that does not spread will eventually go out. A church without evangelism is a contradiction in terms, just as a fire that does not burn is a contradiction” (Christian Theology in Plain Language, p. 162.) H. Richard Niebuhr summarized the core of liberal theology in a single sentence. This shows how and why many churches have lost their zeal for evangelism.

Power for Evangelism
by Damian Phillips

Church researcher George Barna tells us from much research why most Christians do not evangelize: “One dominant reason underlying the increasing reluctance of Christians to share their faith with non-Christians pertains to the faith sharing experience itself. In asking Christians about their witnessing activities, we have found that nine out of ten individuals who attempt to explain their beliefs and theology to other people come away from those experiences feeling as if they have failed.

Raising the Bar of Evangelism
by Douglas Bryan

The fact that Jesus Christ has gone to the cross in order to pay debt for our sins is great news! The fact that Jesus Christ was buried in a grave, but rose 3 days later is terrific news! Because of what Jesus Christ has done, all people, from all nations, of every race, every color, and every social level have the opportunity to be forgiven, saved, and brought into a right relationship with Jesus Christ with the hope of eternal life.
