Sleepy Judas - Mark 14:10-16
Contributed on Apr 28, 2024
Why did Judas sell out the man he had left everything to follow? Surely it must have been more than just the money, right? Jesus has been preparing us for the answer to that question throughout the whole book of Mark.
Mark 14:10 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them. 11 They were delighted to hear this and promised to give him money. So he watched for an opportunity to hand him over. 12 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to ...read more

Six Signs Of Sleepiness - Mark 14:1-9
Contributed on Apr 27, 2024
Why do so many people crash their cars because they fell asleep at the wheel? It’s because sleep comes upon you so gradually that you don’t realize when you’re crossing the threshold from being awake to being asleep. It’s the same spiritually.
Mark 14:1 Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some sly way to arrest Jesus and kill him. 2 "But not during the Feast," they said, "or the people may riot." 3 While he was ...read more

Contributed on Apr 27, 2024

Mark 14:1 Now the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some sly way to arrest Jesus and kill him. 2 "But not during the Feast," they said, "or the people may riot." 3 While he was ...read more

How To Watch For Christ’s Return - Mark 13:32-37
Contributed on Apr 23, 2024
Jesus told us to keep watch for his coming, but what does that mean? Were you keeping watch yesterday?
Mark 13:32 “But concerning that day or hour, no one knows. Not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Keep watch! Stay alert! You do not know when that time will come. 34 It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his ...read more

It Is Near - Mark 13:28-31
Contributed on Apr 23, 2024
What good is it to know that his coming is near? Would you live differently if you knew for sure it would be in your lifetime? Shouldn’t you live that way all the time? And if we can’t know when it will happen, what does “near” even mean?
Mark 13:28 "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 29 Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door. 30 I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not ...read more
