2 Kings 6:18-23- So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, "Strike this people, I pray, with blindness." And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.
19 Now Elisha said to them, "This is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek." But he led them to Samaria.
20 So it was, when they had come to Samaria, that Elisha said, "LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see." And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and there they were, inside Samaria!
21 Now when the king of Israel saw them, he said to Elisha, "My father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them?"
22 But he answered, "You shall not kill them. Would you kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? Set food and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master."
23 Then he prepared a great feast for them; and after they ate and drank, he sent them away and they went to their master. So the bands of Syrian raiders came no more into the land of Israel.
"LORD, Open The Eyes Of These Men, That They May See."
God is interested saving those who despise Him and us, those who persecute Him and us, those who mock Him and us, those who curse Him and us!!
Those ones who are hateful, rude, selfish, mean, those ones who are rebellious, those ones who give us the most trouble!!
God wants to save them, God wants to rescue them, God want help them, God wants to open their eyes!!
And that’s not going happen until we pray for it to happen!!
"LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see."
Somebody prayed for us!!!
That's only reason we could see, that's only reason we could hear, and that's the only reason why we were saved today!!
I once was lost but now I’m found, was blind but now I see!!
Elisha could have called down horses and chariots of fire to destroy them, but he didn’t because he knew God was interested in saving them, and he was going to use this situation to witness to them!!
God wants His people to a part of salvation experience!!
That’s why God ask you to give money to missions, so that you’re a part of winning lost souls in some foreign land!!
That’s why God ask you to witness or at least invite them to church, it maybe your neighbor, your coworker, your children, your spouse, your friends, so that you’re a part of the salvation experience!!
That’s why God wants you to pray for the lost, pray for the back sliding, so that you are a part of the salvation process!!
Someone maybe in heaven because you gave, someone maybe in heaven because you witness to them, someone might be in heaven because you invited them to church, and someone might be in heaven because you prayed for them!!!!
Then He Prepared A Great Feast For Them; And After They Ate And Drank
There are 2 kinds of people you are going to always remember….Those who are mean to you, and those who are nice!
How do you want to be remembered?
I promise you these soldiers went home and never forgot the kindness that was shown to them!!
Wow, what a testimony!!
I want you to do 2 things for yourself this week, and see if next Sunday you don’t feel better!!
1-Ask God to use this week, it maybe to give money, or to witness, or to invite someone to church, or to pray for someone who is lost!
2-That you will be kind to someone who has been hateful, or mean, or back stabbing to you and see what God will do with that act of kindness!!
