Thank you for this. I do not yet have an iPad but need to see first how it can help me on a practical level. This brief video was a first brick for me.

I create a regular document in Word and save it. But then I prepare it for the iPad format I want BEFORE saving it as a PDF. Select all text and change the font size to 20. Then adjust the margins to 1/4" inch on all 4 sides. (You might want to check page breaks to keep your outline flow together.) Then save it as a PDF in Dropbox. Now when you open it, it reads just like normal sized text with your iPad turned to portrait (tall.) Now you see a whole page at a time without scrolling down. Note: you can open this in the free iBooks app that will do the same simple page turning you need.

Hi. If you are using a whole page to a screen Goodreader has a neat little feature - padlock with arrows on bottom tool bar - that switches off everything that would interfere with your talk.. Tapping instead of swiping etc and puts a navigation bar top right - that lets you move through a page at a time.. Thanks for the article..

Goodreader is indeed $4.99 - there are lots of other readers which offer the same help. Adobe Reader (free), Documents (free),Documents2 (free)..these are just 3 that I have...tried to download Goodreader-light..and have encountered some errors...Been preaching from a EPad (First the HP Touchpad and now from an IPAD2) for two years...will never return to paper. It is a GREAT tool...10 or 12 pages??? YIKES!! (GRIN)...Mine are 5 or 6 and still averaging between 35-40 minutes in length...HOWEVER, GREAT ARTICLE and help. God bless your ministry.

This is for Jan - you can do the same thing with Android platform. Save your Word Doc as a PDF into either you "Dropbox" or "Box" and use the Adobe Reader to open it on your Andriod. After using my HP Touchpad (WebOS) for 8 months...I 'jailbroke' it and installed Andriod as a second operating system...(Now it boots both OS's) But the Android works just the same as the Ipad or Touchpad...give it a shot.
