Summary: The first two points to our six point series, covering the Creation and Dinosaurs, the second topic being one, few pastors touch upon.

INTRODUCTION

Our sermon today is titled ‘History 101’ and it is the first part of our new three-part series titled ‘Back-to-School.’

In colleges throughout our nation in past weeks, as well as in elementary, middle- and high-schools, our youth have had their heads filled with so many deceptions…

All of which, are intended to lead them away from what is TRUE.

They are slowly adopting a world-view presented to them by our education system, that is demonstratively UNTRUE yet for the most part unchallenged… that is up until now!

I am soliciting each one of you, to challenge the status quo… to take back our youth… to take back our Nation!

Why are things getting so bad, some may ask? Because this is all driven by Satan and his mission is to destroy us… flat and simple… no ‘and’s if’s or buts’… end of conversation.

From the time our children were small, they have been introduced to what is called ‘The Old Earth’ theory. It is all designed to fit nicely in with their other much larger and much more devastating ‘Theory of Evolution.’

Notice the word ‘Theory’… It’s all conjecture... They want us to believe that the ape is our ancestor. That is why they have always worked on the youth… counting on their naivety.

TRANSITION #1

So how did we get here? My answer is slowly and gradually. It reminds me of the old adage ‘How to cook a frog.’ Or ‘How to eat an elephant’… slowly and one piece at a time.

In my mind… It all started with yours and my generation. We sat by and watched as they removed God from our schools and just about everywhere else.

I am as much to blame as anyone else.

I took little interest in what was happening in my children’s school when they were growing up.

I wasn’t active enough in our government either… many times not even voting or if I did, it was straight down party lines… Never really caring about who I was voting for or what his or her principles were.

I never once attended a PTA meeting, for I was far too busy!

What a shame!

So, the first thing we need to do is recognize that we indeed have a problem and the problem is ours to solve with the help of our God Almighty.

AA would tell you that this first step is the most vital… Admitting that you indeed have a problem… else it will continue to fester.

So, as a society… or better yet… as a church… what can we do to ‘stem the tide?’

I have concentrated or percolated… if you will… it all down to six major points that we need to address with our youth… and it all starts with us!

They are:

SIX POINTS:

I. GOD

II. DINOSAURS

III. THE GREAT FLOOD

IV. GIANTS

V. SATAN

VI. JESUS CHRIST

TRANSITION #2

Dr. Jeremiah stated that unlike it was in the 18th and 19th centuries, where 9 out of 10 young people knew of and believed strongly in GOD, it was NOT much of a stretch to talk about His Son Jesus as our ancestors tried to guide them to salvation.

But in this century, many of our young people and as well as our so-called millennials… do not know GOD or believe that He exists.

That makes it difficult to get them interested in the Son of God with no GOD as a basis or starting point.

So, we need to ratchet back… we need to in the beginning… we need to start with GOD… and you know… that‘s a great place to start!

We’ll cover a couple of important topics as it relates to GOD, and only a couple, due to time constraints.

We could talk about GOD for hours and hours!

But… you are probably wondering… why is Dinosaurs #2 and/or why do we need to address it at all. The reason is this… Dinosaurs and how we Christians approach them… is one of the major causes for our youth… as well as nonbelievers… to distrust us.

As an example, how do you think it goes over with the them, when we tell them that ‘there is no such thing as a dinosaur’… yet in their classrooms and in their textbooks… they are reading and viewing much about them…

Including the vast number of skeletal remains (fossils) that have been excavated and are now hanging in museums in all of the major cities of the world.

We don’t have to be dinosaur experts, but we need to know enough so that we can discuss the subject with them while steering them back to God.

That’s exactly why I am addressing this with you. We cannot continue to ignore the problem.

Closely related to dinosaurs and the problems that stem from that topic is the ‘Great Flood’…

Which according to many non-Christian scientists, never happened. We’ll get into that when we discuss ‘The Great Flood.’

Next, would be giants. Pastors typically gloss over giants because it is a difficult subject.

The problem is compounded… when our youth and any unbeliever compares what most Christians say (‘as in there is no such thing’) vs the fossilized skeletal remains of humans whose heights were in excess of sixteen feet.

It would make no sense for any Christian to deny they never existed. We immediately lose their confidence and that’s certainly not want we want.

Next, will be point #5, which is dedicated to Satan. Need I say more about why he is in the list?

And last, but certainly not the least, is Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Well, with all that in mind, let us get started. We will not be able to cover it all in one sermon, so I have included today’s sermon in a series I have titled ‘Back to School.’ This is Part One of Three.

SERMON

POINT #1: GOD

Let us open our Bibles to GENESIS 1:1-5. This is where it all begins, and we need to start here when trying to lead a young person to Christ, as previously discussed.

By-the-way, if they should ask you, ‘How would we know this…Who was there to write this down?’ or something similar, just tell them that God spoke to a man named Moses and told Him precisely how it all happened.

We need to focus on the words ‘In the Beginning’, because they many people… youth included… are taught that everything became what it is today from a ‘Big Bang.’

So, the obvious question we should have for them is… ‘How did this Big Bang happen?’ How could something come from nothing?

Then tell them that there was indeed nothing… until God spoke, and there was!

He is the only one who can create something from nothing. Challenge them to show you or to convey to you where they might have ever seen something created from nothing? And how might the scientists demonstrate this theory… yes another theory

Point out to them that God is one part of a ‘Trinity’ and that the third person of that trinity is the Holy Spirit and He is mentioned here in verse 2… The second being His Son Jesus, who we will talk in length… a little later.

The last thing we need to talk to them about concerning God is this… that there was no day or night until He created it… as mentioned in verse 5.

Time did not exist until God created it! And the day and night are the same today… Nothing has changed.

In one of my books, I bring up the notion that our heart beats about once per second or sixty beats per minute and acts as our internal time piece.

Have you ever woke up at a certain time and wondered how you body knew to wake up at that particular moment? I know I have!

It’s that internal clock that God has given us… after all… we are made in His image… excuse me… in their image.

In the subsequent verses, God tells us over-and-over, that ‘It is good.’

This is proof that there once was no evil or corruption in all that God created. Something happened… It was Satan who brought it all to our world and to us.

More will be said about that in Point #5.

Point #2: Dinosaurs

Watch my lips…

Dinosaurs existed… Dinosaurs lived… Man lived with them

Never tell our young people or any unbeliever… anything different.

They know that many fossilized remains… do exist.

TRANSITION #3

Isaiah 11:6-7

Why did I include this passage?

Because, prior to evil entering our world, the animals got along. There were no prey and no predators.

But, once Satan had deceived Adam and Eve, things changed. Things were no longer ‘good’ as they once were at the time of God’s creation. Many animals, including dinosaurs, began to eat other animals, rather than graze on grasses as they once did.

Man, also began to eat the flesh of animals rather than be a vegetarian as he once was.

They may ask. are dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible and our answers need to be ‘Yes they are!’… Because they are.

Job 40:15-24

When you read ‘Behemoth’ in verse 15, does a hippopotamus come to mind? Or maybe an elephant?

Have you ever noticed that the tails on the hippo, elephant and rhino are tiny?

Here, the animals tail is described as ‘like a cedar.’ Does that sound like a small tail to you?

Cedars in Texas are anywhere from 15’ to 100’.

Do we know of any animals that had tails that long? The brontosaurus did. He was more than 100 feet from his head to end of his tail. Again, we know this by the ‘Fossil Records.’

It is important to note in verse 15 that God tells us this… ‘which I made along with you.’

This is absolute proof that man and dinosaurs coexisted. Dinosaurs did NOT live millions of years ago… before man. Matter-of-fact… if one reads the Bible… one finds that animals and man were created on the same day… Day Six.

This is why we see drawings in caves of man hunting the dinosaur. This is why we have dragons in our folklore. Man knew and killed the dinosaur…to extinction I might add.

Job 41:1-2

Job 41:7

Job 41:19-21

This dinosaur not only lived in the sea (with the fishes… i.e. the hook), but it could breathe fire! Sounds a lot like a dragon… does it not?

This animal had to be large because of the harpoons and spears it could withstand.

Again, this is conclusive evidence that the dinosaur lived at the same time as man.

I might add, that recently, scientists have discovered numerous dinosaur fossils containing viable flesh (notice the short clip we have on the projector).

If flesh can only exist for up to 10,000 years as stated by our scientists, does this not also prove that dinos are NOT millions of years old, but instead less than 10,000 and most likely about 7,000 years old.

In closing, I pray that this history lesson has opened our eyes to truths that are contained within the pages of our Bibles that can confront the non-believing teachers that are teaching our youth these lies and turning them away from GOD.

Our young people are our nation’s future leaders and it is imperative that they get to know and believe in GOD.
