Moses and Elijah.. and you
Moses and Elijah stand out as two very great prophets in the Kingdom of GOD. They even came from their heavenly abode to meet with our SAVIOR in Matthew 17:3. Before that JESUS our SAVIOR said that HE had not come to destroy the law or the prophets but HE had come to fulfill them.
Very simply and basically, it shows that JESUS appreciated and accepted the works of the prophets that had walked this earth before HE HIMSELF physically walked this earth. The scripture tells us that all our works will be tested by fire to see what kind of work it is. 1 Corinthians 3:13. Yes, Beloved, your works will be tested too!
There is no doubt that the works of Elijah and Moses were tested by fire and that they made it and successfully are eternally in the Kingdom of heaven.
Interestingly:
i. Both these men have no epitaphs. Moses had a funeral conducted by The LORD HIMSELF and a grave which no one knows the location. Elijah had a fiery exit, hence no grave and no funeral. But here they show up talking with our SAVIOR. What can we get from this? Man of GOD, fulfill your calling in peace and truth. Stop worrying about your legacy and grave. God will ensure that your testimony and legacy, if any, are known, recorded and passed down to generations.
ii. Both men forsook the trappings of wealth, fame and royalty of their time. Moses and Elijah had access to the ruling political class. They did not use this closeness and access for personal benefit, growth and riches. Instead they shunned it and used the opportunities granted to display the greatness and superiority of the Kingdom of GOD. Now, you my fellow believers, who post for us photos of yourselves smiling with the enemies of the church and worse still even praying for them to continue prospering in their evil ways. Beloved, can we be serious please? Can we please be serious! Moses and Elijah and JESUS CHRIST did not mince words with kings and earthly authorities and did not revel in their interactions with these earthly kingdoms.
iii. Both men had serious conflicts and run-ins with kings of their time. Elijah with Ahab and others and Moses with Pharaoh and others. Ahab and Pharaoh exited the earth before Elijah and Moses did. Moses and Elijah knew they served a higher kingdom and they lived to see the manifestation of this kingdom in their day to day lives. Nowadays, servants of GOD are greatly intimidated and terrified by earthly rulers and governments. In some cases, some preachers want to join the world system and run the world; they want to join the political class. This is because they don’t know and understand the excellence, superiority and magnificence of the government of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. Worse still, we modern day children of GOD don’t believe that this Government of JESUS can stand for us in spite of it clearly standing for and with Moses and Elijah.
It is a tragedy to see people calling themselves servants of GOD, going to beg for favors from earthly kings and governments. Others still, take the offerings and support from the children of God who come to their churches to give to earthly rulers and governments to gain favor and support for their ministries. If you do this and you are a man of GOD, you are deceived. The Kingdom of JESUS is in this world but not of this world that is why JESUS did not bow to whichever government. HE told them plainly that whatever authority they exercised over HIM had been given to them. When they wanted HIM to perform a miracle, He called them foxes and stayed away from them. And here you are, following politicians like a sick puppy, begging them for money and favors not knowing that you are selling your souls and ministry. Here is what you should do, go, join them and stop misleading the children of GOD. Whoever, proliferated the lie that Christians should enter politics lied to Christians. The ways of JESUS CHRIST diametrically oppose the world system. This lie of Christians and politics is not new. Remember, the emperor who ‘converted’ to Christianity with a view of getting combatants for his army. The church has never recovered from this ‘mingling’ with ‘emperors’ hence the call, “ Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues...” Revelation 18:4. There are many such ‘emperors’ today who use scripture to fulfill their own purposes and agendas. They don’t believe in GOD but have earthly purposes and they proliferate lies to entice gullible children of GOD. These are businessmen in league with the great harlot. They know that Christians are many and nowadays majority rules. They want numbers. Beloved, ultimately you are responsible for your soul. Not your pastor or your church. If you fall into the traps of these lies, that’s your fault. You will commiserate together in hell. Guard your heart for from it flow the issues of life. You are well advised to be aware of their devices, ploys and shenanigans. As one Servant Mackenzie put it, the main purpose of these governments is to persecute Christians especially during the tribulation , as they hide behind seemingly noble endeavors and works. Beloved, walk in the light, and if your darkness is light, come to JESUS the Light.
Beloved, these are times in which we need to increase our faith to at least reach the minimum level which is that of a mustard seed.
iv. Elijah and Moses fully made use of the Kingdom of GOD and its resources to further the works of The MOST HIGH. These gifts and resources are available for us to use. Unfortunately, we are trading with these gifts, displaying them, boasting about them but denying the power of GOD. Beloved, when you exit this world and go to be with The LORD and see the resources available for you and your ministry, some will start begging The LORD, “O , let me go back and show them, I didn’t know that this fire was available.” Beloved, it will be too late. The spiritual resources for your ministry are very available for physical manifestation today even more so than they were in the time of our great predecessors Moses and Elijah because we have The HOLY SPIRIT and we have historical records to read and be informed about. But beloved, you already know this but you don’t believe it. That is the painful truth. Start believing this and walk with The LORD. HE said HIMSELF that greater things than HE did you will do. So, what are you waiting for? We are always praying where is the GOD of Elijah? Well, HE is here. The question is “where are the sons of God”. Where are you? The Bible says that creation awaits the manifestation of the sons of GOD. Where are we?
v. The MOST HIGH gave the lives of the enemies of Elijah and Moses into the hands of Elijah and Moses. Remember, the 450 prophets of Baal, the two contingents of soldiers that dared say to Elijah “Man of GOD, come down..”, Korah, Dathan and Abiram, Pharaoh and his army and his country. Beloved, these are not anecdotes. These things were recorded for you to read and act accordingly. Note that in these incidences supernatural occurrences took place to display the backing of GOD upon the lives of these two great men. Except in the case of Elijah and the 450 prophets where Elijah killed them. You see, beloved, you can’t go through scripture picking what you believe and what you will not believe. If you do that, you are unlikely to reap the full benefits of the scripture and miss the manifestations of the Kingdom of GOD or worse still make excuses for these manifestations. Many Christians cringe and don’t know what to say when people ask why the LORD ordered His servants to kill and annihilate others. And we start making all sorts of excuses like “umm.. You know, it is allegorical” “it is spiritual” “the bible has been edited” “the bible was written by man” “ The LORD didn’t really mean that ..” .. “I myself I’m not that radical, I'm a moderate Christian”. And then we get all confused and run away with our tails between our legs. How about just saying “ Yes, the Bible is true, not a story or allegory. I stand by it and by the actions of my KING whether I understand them or not. I take my side with my KING” Beloved, do not fear them who can destroy your body and after that they can do nothing more, but fear HIM who can destroy both body and soul. If you deny CHRIST before men, HE will deny you. Pray for courage and strength. Yes, beloved, pray for courage and strength to stand for the LORD Whom you have never seen.
Beloved, we need courage, but before you develop any, not only know the Word of GOD but believe it, believe HIM. Who knows what HE will do, maybe we will see the fire we crave. Enough of this half belief in scriptures. Be hot or be cold. Choose one. Don’t believe in the crucifixion and when it come to Elijah you start coughing, making excuses left , right and center.
vi. Beloved, Moses and Elijah , finished their work. But we are still here. The HOLY SPIRIT is here with us. We all know the gifts and fruits of the HOLY SPIRIT. They are there, evident in our time. Why do we want these gifts? So that people can see we have them? Because, they are written in scripture? Beloved, these gifts are here to be used by the children of GOD to show mankind the love , purpose and destination of God for mankind. To show the power , majesty and glory of GOD ALMIGHTY. But how will they know if we don’t tell them? How will they know, if we ourselves, don’t really believe? How will they know if we ourselves doubt the prophets, we ourselves doubt our SAVIOR. Very few are willing to die for what we believe and this gives the enemy a field day in your life.
For example, let’s talk about the gift of healing. Every Christian knows that GOD heals but they don’t really believe it and wouldn’t bet their lives on it despite the scripture saying that healing is bread for the children. The health industry is booming, and now the discussion is rife about vaccines and all sorts of health monitoring for everyone. We, the Christians, are as divided as confused as ever. We are obsessed with life on this earth and will swallow anything to keep our bodies on this earth. Beloved, whatever happened to the scripture that says you must die daily and the scripture that says “ I AM The LORD that heals you”. “I (The LORD) will not put the diseases of Egypt on you. What happened to The NAME of The LORD ; YAHWEH RAPHA , why is it rarely on our lips in these days of pandemics and disasters.
Look at the problem facing travel. The scripture tells us that Philip travelled from one place to another by the spirit of GOD without car, visa, plane etc. we don’t really believe this. Do we? Beloved, let us be fully invested in the affairs of our FATHER so that when HE says HE needs us somewhere, we know HE will get us there with or without manmade technology. I personally would like the experience without man-made technology. I have a feeling it’s liberating. Whether you like it or not, your spirit will exit your body without using man made technology, so , the quicker you get used to The LORD and HIS modus operandi the better for you.
Beloved, let us believe the scripture in and out. I don’t see the problem with taking it literarily. We don’t really believe what JESUS said. We don’t really believe the scripture. That’s our number one problem. We are in the world and of the world. Beloved, the spirit of the anti-CHRIST is already here. The troubles facing the children of GOD are prophesied to increase. The power of GOD, the HOLY SPIRIT is here. What is the problem? The problem is that you want this world and you don’t believe in JESUS CHRIST. Ok then, The LORD will hand you over to your depraved mind, to this world and it’s temporary demonic solutions, and when your time comes to exit this world and for sure it will come, you had better know what you will do.
vii. Beloved, in case you have forgotten JESUS is The KING of kings and LORD of lords. HE has a government. HE will not tolerate treason from you or any other person. You are best advised to pick a side and stick to it. If you pick JESUS and HIS government, stick to HIM, pay the price and walk the talk. It’s not by force, see HIS works and the manifestations of His Kingdom and abide and comply. Otherwise, don’t be surprised when HE says HE does not know who you are and you are not on HIS citizenship roll.
Beloved, the scripture informs us, "And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15.
Do you want to know JESUS as your personal Lord and Savior? Your eternity is at stake! JESUS has opened the door of salvation to every person. But there is coming a day when the door will be closed. Today is the day of salvation. Choose to be in the family of GOD. JESUS died so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with HIM. Don't delay! And if you want to begin a relationship with GOD or resume a broken one, say this: O GOD, I come to YOU today. I know I am a sinner. I believe that JESUS died on the cross to save me and HE resurrected on the third day. I repent of my sins and forsake them. I confess JESUS as my LORD and SAVIOR . I invite JESUS into my heart. By this prayer, I know I am saved. Thank YOU JESUS for saving me and making me a child of GOD. Amen
