Summary: “The life I now live . . . .” Galatians 2:20 Are you enjoying life or enduring life? Are you living or just existing?

1. The Secret to Living - In Galatians 2:20, the Apostle Paul shared the secret to living. He described how his new life in Christ was a direct result of what happened to him on the Cross. The cross changed everything for Paul. He was not the same anymore! What Paul described about the cross is not a hope so, maybe so proposition. Nor is it about what he would have, could have, or should have done. And, it certainly is not a reference to his future life in Heaven. It is about now! The Apostle Paul was talking about the glorious fact that he was “living large” in the now here on planet Earth.

2. Life is for Living - Life is for living . . . now! Now is where we are. Now is what we have. Now is where we must live. Thankfully, God is a now God! He is present tense—The Great I AM! (Exodus 3:14) Therefore, Christ enables us to live life now! The cross of Christ changes everything about you. When you come to the cross you are changed into a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). You literally become a brand new person. You get a new lease on life. Therefore, the Apostle Paul’s life-changing testimony can be your testimony too. In fact, if you have received Christ, then you’ve already been changed. You are a new person. The new life-source is already resident in you.

3. Living is Possible - The question is, “Are you living—really and truly living?” Living is possible only when Christ does the living. Christ is the Source of Life! The Christian life is His life and only He can live it. So, stop trying to do His job. Instead, by faith simply tap into the new life-source resident within you. Trust Christ to live His life through you. Then you’ll be living, truly living not just existing!
