FAITHFUL IN THE FIVE "Ts"

1 Cor 4:1-5

1 Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ, and stewards of the

mysteries of God.

2 In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.

3 But to me it is a very small thing that I should be examined by you, or by any

human court; in fact, I do not even examine myself.

4 For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted;

but the one who examines me is the Lord.

5 Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the

Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and

disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s (NAS)

INTRODUCTION

The word Stewardship originally meant a "house manager" or one who manages for another. Christian Stewardship emphasizes the our management for our Lord.

We have been bought with a price. It cost Jesus his life for a person to become a Christian. When we acknowledge him as Lord and individually as Lord of our life we enter the realm of Christian Stewardship.

Today I want to call your attention to five ares for being a faithful steward. They are the areas of our Time, Talent, Treasure, Testimony and Temple for our Lord..

1. Time (NAS)

(Acts 18:20-21 NASB) And when they asked him to stay for a longer time, he did not consent, 21 but taking leave of them and saying, "I will return to you again if God wills," he set sail from Ephesus.

a. Present time

Rom 8:18

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

2 Cor 8:14 (NAS)

14 at this present time your abundance {being a supply} for their want, that their abundance also may become {a supply} for your want, that there may be equality;

b. Past time. (NAS)

2 Cor 12:21

21 I am afraid that when I come again my God may humiliate me before you, and I may mourn over many of those who have sinned in the past and not repented of the impurity, immorality and sensuality which they have practiced.

c. future (NAS)

Jer 29:11

11 `For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, `plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

2 Tim 4:8

8 in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.

2. Talents (NAS)

Rom 12:6

6 And since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, {let each exercise them accordingly}: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;

1 Cor 12:1 and 4

1 Now concerning spiritual {gifts,} brethren, I do not want you to be unaware.

4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.

1 Cor 12:30 - 31

30 All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they? 31 But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way.

3. Testimony (NAS)

Mark 6:11

11 "And any place that does not receive you or listen to you, as you go out from
