About Greg
  • Education: B.B.A. Marketing, University of Memphis Doctor of Jurisprudence, University of Tennessee College of Law
  • Experience: Currently Associate Executive Director of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. formerly Senior Pastor, Cabot First Baptist Church (Cabot, Ar); Senior Pastor, East Side Baptist Church (Paragould, Ar); Staff Minister, Bellevue Baptist Church (Memphis, Tenn.)
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: The Bible has one topic - salvation through Jesus. The Bible says "there is nothing new under the sun." All I know and preach is an amalgam of things learned from other men and women during a lifetime of church and then run through the grid of my own life and quiet time. It’s all Jesus anyway, so credit goes to the Lord - both for their teachings and mine. It is my prayer something from them and me blesses the Lord and you.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Payday Someday by R.G. Lee; Galatians 6: 7-10 by Dr. Adrian Rogers; Hebrews 10:19-32 by Dr. Fred Wolfe; I Peter 5:8-10 by Bobby Welch.
  • Family: Wife and two kids (Jr High and High school)
  • What my parents think of my sermons: The first time I preached my mother told me three times how much she hoped I would be prepared since I was preaching at our home church in front of all of her friends. Now she knows and loves my preaching.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: My wife loves my style of expository preaching over a passage of scripture - but she cringes every time I begin another story about how wonderful she is.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Always tell them about Jesus, always using the Word of God. Adrian Rogers
  • Books that have had an impact: My Utmost for His Highest, Oswald Chambers; Absolute Surrender, Andrew Murray; Experiencing God, Henry Blackaby; Character COUnts, Rod Handley; Tender Warrior, Stu Webber; How to Worship Jesus Christ, Carroll; Good to Great,
  • Hobbies: World War II history with emphasis on ETO. Collecting vintage GI Joes. Spy novels. Basketball.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: God loves you more than you cam imagine. Give your life to Him and begin the journey of finding out how much!
  • What I want on my tombstone: He may not have had much, but he left it all on the field of play.
