About RAY
  • Education: BTh from Otago University, Dunedin, New Zealand.
  • Experience: 8 years rural ministry and 12 years urban ministry.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Please be gentle with me!
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Not much, since my parents are dead.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Sometimes impressed!
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Always preach using the Bible, use illustrations where possible and try to be as clear as possible. Be able to explain your main message in a sentence before you preach it. Keep it brief and remember to stop while you still have the people with you.
  • Books that have had an impact: Holiness of God by RC Sproul
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own wisdom or insight. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Someone got up and contested what I said, so I asked them to speak to me afterwards.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He was a subject of grace and any glory goes to Christ.

GRAFTED TO JESUS AND ONE ANOTHER Grafting is done for several purposes, but most commonly in the olive oil industry it is to get the hardy roots of one variety with the fecundity of another variety.
