A schoolteacher was giving a lesson in fractions. "Johnny, suppose there were seven in your family -- five children and mother and father --a total of seven. And suppose there was pie for dessert. What fraction of the pie would you get?" Johnny answered, "One-sixth." "But you don’t understand," replied the teacher. "Don’t you know about fractions?" Johnny said, "I know about fractions and I know about my mother, too. Mother would say she didn’t want any."

Did you ever wonder why your mother always preferred the chicken wing and the back so your daddy and you kids could have the meatier pieces? Do you remember the old days when the men ate at “the first table,” followed by the women and children next? The bony pieces were all that were left.
