The story is told of two educators in a local high school who were applying for the same vacant Vice-Principal position. One applicant had been teaching a total of 8 years and the other a total of 20. After all was said and done, the applicant with 8 years experience received the position. When the other applicant complained to the School Board about this, he said that he should have been the one to receive the position because he had 20 years of experience - more than double the amount of the one who had been given the job. In reply, the School Board said to the man that, after reviewing his application and references and record, their conclusion was that he did not, in fact, have 20 years of experience but rather he had 1 (one) year of experience, which he had repeated 19 times.
