Someone once asked, Why does a caged bird sing? Every Sunday morning hundreds of Guyanese meet at the Smokey Oval Park a few blocks from my home. The men have one thing in common a little bird in a cage. It amazes me to see these little birds although caged would sing so melodiously. Why would the caged bird sing? It is because of the beautiful cage? Is it because of the best bird food? It is because of the owner? No the nature of the bird is to sing. God created the bird with the melody of praise and thanksgiving and even though in captivity the bird sings. God wants us to be like that bird, caged in this world of sin we can sing the melody of praise because he lives in our heart.
