THE BEST GIFT- COMMUNION MEDITATION

In his book The Life of God in the Soul of Man, Henry Scougal, the seventeenth-century Scottish minister, said:

“God hath long contended with a stubborn world, and thrown down many a blessing upon them; and when all his other gifts could not prevail, he at last made a gift of himself.”

That is what we remember as we come around the Lord's Table. We remember that Jesus came to earth as God in the Flesh to give us eternal life through the forgiveness of our sins.

"Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, `Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water...a well of water springing up to eternal life."
