Egyptian Mother Would Pray For Son's Killers
Contributed by Matt Neace on Jun 18, 2018 (message contributor)
On May 26, 2017, 28 Egyptian Christians were killed for their faith. They were traveling on a bus to a monastery in Minya to celebrate the Feast of Ascension. They were met by men in military clothing standing on the road. These men who were from the terrorist group ISIS. The masked men shot out the wheels of the bus. The first person they killed was Sameh, the son-in-law of Nadia.
ISIS had asked him to convert to Islam. Sameh refused and was shot. Then the men came to Sameh's son, Hany. They asked him and he said, "No." Then there was another gunshot.
Nadia said, "Maybe you would think I would rather have seen my son make a different choice. But I am happy that I witnessed the faith I raised him in. I am thankful he would not deny Christ even with his life in danger."
Nadia later said, "If I meet the attackers of my son and they kill me for my faith, I'd be happy. Then I would join my son in Heaven."
She also said if she were given a chance, she would say to her son's attackers, "I pray that they will be touched by God so they will change their ways."
