United In Opposition: According to Barna Research, there are many attitudes in which Christians are not distinct from non-Christians, but in their most recent study abortion and homosexuality are not among them. The survey found the following: 75% of born again adults say abortion should be illegal in all circumstances or under all but a few special circumstances. Only 25% of non-Christians agree. Born again adults are twice as likely as non-born agains to reject homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle. 80% of born again adults disapprove of clergy performing marriage ceremonies and blessing unions between two gay people. In contrast, just half of all non-born again adults oppose the practice. (Barna Research 7/23/01)
