Values Votes Bush voters were significantly more likely than Kerry voters to say “moral values” were an important consideration in their presidential votes. The two groups have differing perceptions of government’s role in addressing moral concerns: Bush voters are more than twice as likely to believe that the government should promote traditional values. Paradoxically, Bush voters are less likely to believe that generally, government should take a larger role in solving society’s problems. (Gallup Alert 11/29/04)
