Man would never write a book about how sinful and wretched he is. The Bible will always point us to our need for a Savior, and Paul reminds the church in Galatia of this critical fact that many of them have seemed to have forgotten!

Do we live like a new creation because of what Jesus has done; or are we still trying to win the approval of the world? Paul's conclusion to Galatians is an encouragement to all believers to devote themselves fully to living only for Christ.

We cannot go back into a life of slavery (mainly because we would enjoy our sin). Do we wish to become slaves again? If not; we need to listen to the Word; to not be a slave; we need to live completely for Christ ... in total submission.

In our lives, will we praise the Lord because of what He’s accomplished? This is Paul’s urging to all of us: to live in a way that honors God. When we do, God gets the praise and not us … because it’s not about us.

If we could get what we need from God in any other way … If there was anyway else we could earn favor with God … Christ’s death is meaningless. Are we willing to do whatever it takes to show people what they need?

Jesus + NOTHING ELSE = Salvation. If something else is needed, His words “It is finished” are incomplete, and more is required to redeem God's creation. It has always been about Jesus, and our words/actions must points others to Him!

Paul is compelled to write these words to a church that needs to change. The challenge here today is doing an honest gut-check: do we live eternally for Christ – or for our own glory and recognition?
