Simeon said Jesus was to be a light for the Gentiles. What exactly did that mean? And why should I care if He was or not?

The Bible tells us that the Gospel was preached first to the Jews. Why would they get first crack at salvation? And what can this mean to us?

If the Gospel message is all about Jesus coming to die for our sins... why would God waste ink telling about the birth of a baby Jesus in a manger? What possible impact could that story have on our understanding of God’s gift of salvation?

Some people regard Jesus to be like Santa Claus - He’s just a little further up the food chain. But as our Messiah, Jesus came to offer far more than a jolly elf. What is it that Jesus as Messiah offers that this world can not equal?

Jesus said He offered a different peace than the world did. But what kind of peace does the world offer us and how is what Jesus gives better than that?
