Jesus ministry to serve and ransom mankind was not spontaneous, but well-orchestrated –as we see in today’s text. We can see at least three persons or categories involved in the early stage of his ministry.

Jesus was led by the Spirit, and so we should seek to be Spirit-led.

Because Jesus lived on earth as a man, he typically experienced human limitations. His human side needed a balance between rest and ministry (work), and he was not afraid to say no.

Jesus was controversial because he was aligned with the truth and put God's Word and work above the inherited traditions that had accumulated over the centuries. So we should be bound by Scripture and mission.

Even in areas where we are confident, we are completely vulnerable. Our only real security comes through a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
