The Lord set us free from sin & began His good work in us by His 1st coming & will wondrous bring His work to completion in His Second Coming.

Christians picture Jesus as artists have portrayed Him when He walked the earth. Here John sees Jesus as we will see Him when we lay eyes on Him for the first time. He is the Resurrected Lord of Glory.

In this world we will have suffering and at specific times the church will be impacted by tribulation. At such times the church needs to look to their Lord and to their future reward.

Churches can refuse to face the reality of their spiritual condition before God. Forms & traditions can replace God’s presence and power. God here show the way out & the way back.

There are specific reasons Christ opened the door of opportunity for the church at Philadelphia. Christ also gives promises to churches, though they be of a little strength, who respond in faith by going through the door of opportunity.

The Laodicean Church had become complacent & apatetic about the cause of Christ because its members were involved in the worldly activities of the affluent society in which they lived. Jesus tells them that He would not accept their luke-warm attitude.
