The Lord is close to all that call upon Him in sincerity, and is abundantly generous to them, and has promised to help and save them.

It is nothing new for righteous men, and the most righteous cause, to encounter enemies. This is a fruit of the old hostility in the seed of the serpent against the Seed of the woman.

This psalm is David’s confession and concerns physical sickness. David is very ill. His body is wasting away. We have no record of him having this illness, but as we have seen before he thanked God for his healing.
