The disciples either missed or failed to apply Jesus teaching in Mark chapter 9 verse 36. They rebuke parents who were bringing little children to Jesus, but Jesus was indignant when he saw this. Jesus blessed children and he asks us to learn from them.

Jesus dealt with conflict head on, yet always without sin. He did not avoid conflict. Once he dealt with it in his team, he pointed them back to His mission and their mission. He does that with us also.

Jesus drew attention to the faith, trust and sacrificial giving of a poor widow who gave all she had to support the temple ministry.
