Summary: A look at what we as Christians must do with the time that we have left.

We are going to be back in Joel Chapter 2 today. A teacher asked the children in her Sunday School class, “If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale, and give all the money to the church, would I get into heaven?” “No!” The children all answered. “If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the yard, and kept everything neat and tidy, would I then get into heaven?” Again, the answer was “NO!” “Well,” she continued, “then how can I get into heaven? In the back of the room, a five-year-old boy shouted, “You got to be dead!”

If you look on the screen behind me, you will see that the title of my message today is “2 Minute Drill.” Before you get too excited, no my sermon today will be 2 minutes long. Last week when we looked at the book of Joel, we talked about how both we as individuals and we the church need to repent and return to God. This week, we will look at why we need to do both of those things.

Before we get into the scripture and the rest of the sermon, I would like to explain what a 2 minute drill is. They are normally seen towards the end of the 4th quarter by a team that needs points to either tie the game to take it into overtime or, by a team looking for a late score to win the game.

As a coach and as a former football player, I can tell you that this is one of the most stressful things in life. So, we are at the end of the fourth quarter. The end of the game is in sight, and it is now or never. Keep this in mind for later. Look at Joel Chapter 2 starting in verse 1.

READ JOEL 2:1

All throughout scripture, the Lord says that His return is near. Folks, we are closer to the return of Christ today than we have ever been before. Jesus Himself says in Revelation Chapter 22 that He is coming soon. That was nearly 2,000 years ago. We see the signs of the return being near everywhere.

Revelation Chapter 9 mentions there being a 200-million-man army

Russia and China recently announced a military coalition. This combines the largest and 5th largest militaries in the world and we can expect other countries to join as well.

Daniel Chapter 9 mentions a peace treaty between Israel and the surrounding nations

The United States and Suadi Arabia have begun to work out a peace treaty with Israel

Revelation Chapter 16 mentions the Euphrates River drying up

Today, the river is almost completely gone

Joel Chapter 2 says that God will pour out His spirit and sons and daughters will prophesy, and the old men will have dreams and the young men will have visions

Last week I told y`all that social media was a great way to reach a lot of people with the Gospel. For a few months now, most of the videos that I have seen are of people talking about the dreams they have about the upcoming rapture.

Isaiah 41 says that God will make the wilderness a pool of water and He will make the dry lands a spring of water

In the Middle East and in Africa, rivers are appearing out of nowhere in the deserts.

And the list goes on and on. The Lord will soon be returning. Matthew 24: 36-37 says this:

“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”

We do not know exactly when He will come back, but Luke Chapter 21 tells us that there will be signs that the time is near and folks, there are signs showing everywhere. We just looked at a few of those signs. I believe that we are in the 4th quarter. I believe we are at the end of the 4th quarter and the end is in sight. This requires us as Christians to go into our 2-minute drill. So, the question is what is the 2-minute drill that we as Christians must run. During our 2-minute drill, we must prepare for the rapture, prepare our families for the rapture, and tell as many people as possible about Jesus. This 2-minute drill is important for you, your family, and everyone that you know. Here are 5 things that are required during a 2-minute drill.

1. It Requires Us to Go on the Offensive

Earlier, we set the scene for what a 2-minute drill looks like for an offense. You are down by one score, and you need either a field goal or a touchdown to either tie the game or, take it to overtime. In order to do this, you must go on the offensive and you must be aggressive. For us as Christians, we must also go on the offensive and be aggressive. 2nd Corinthians 10: 3-5 says this:
