Summary: Have we humbled our selves before God in prayer seeking his face. Then revival will come right? Wrong there is more to it. What? There is more oh yea.

REVIVAL (Part 2) 2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I want you to notice what God tells us we have to have before we can have revival. First you must be called be his name. That means to be revived you must first be a Christian. Only the Christian will be called by his name. That means for God to fuel the fire that burns with in the fire must first have been kindled by God.

Then God says we must pray. Too many of us today want revival to come before we pray. Not going to happen. We must begin praying for the revival long before we begin the revival. We must pray everyday. Go with a pray on your lips. Seek God in every possible opportunity. Pray is the key building block to a relationship with God. Pray provides a source of fuel for the fire of the heart. Without pray we have no way to communicate with God.

I want us to realize tonight that is not answering our prayers because we are not praying them. God is not moving because we are not moving. The word tells us that God knows the desires of our hearts even before we ask. But it does not tell us there is no need to ask. If fact we know form the word that we must ask. I don’t know about you but I am asking God to pour out a great spirit of worship on us all.

As we begin to pray we must seek God’s face just as Moses did on the mount when he cried out Lord let me look up on you? Must desire to be in the presence of God. We must desire to look up on him. If we do not seek him he will not come. Seek implies a length of time. It does not happen instantly. We must be continually seeking God from our knees HUMBLE. That is what the word says: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Have we humbled our selves before God in prayer seeking his face. Then revival will come right? Wrong there is more to it. What? There is more oh yea. And this next part boy it’s a doozy. We must turn from our wicked ways. Now wait a minute preacher. I am saved. But have you turned from compromise with the world? Are you on the work path of righteousness? Even Christians have wicked ways. Every time we fail God by not giving a testimony. Every time we fail to tell some lost person the good news of Jesus. Every time we skip a prayer time for TV, dinner, trip to town, or even the job. We must turn from our wicked ways.

Only after we have been called by his name, humble ourselves in prayer seeking his face, and turn form our wicked ways can we truly have revival. After all this God says he will then and only then hear from heaven. And after he hears us then he will what? Forgive us our sins and then heal the land.

Why are people not being healed? Because we have sin in our lives. Notice God says after he has forgiven our sin he will heal the land.

You will never get that fire of revival burning so long as you continue too put water on it. You will never get the fire of revival burning unless you put the fuel of prayer and seeking God’s face on it.

Tonight we are in the early stages of revival. What will you do for God tonight in return for the fire of revival in your heart? Like I have already said revival is not for the Sinner. Revival is for the Christian. This altar is open to the sinner tonight if you feel God drawing you then come we will pray with you. But this altar is also open to the Christian. Do you desire a closer walk with Jesus? Do you desire to do more for God? Do you desire more of the spirit or the Holy Ghost power in your life? Then come let us pray with you.
