A Compromise Religion

Summary: In this portion of scripture is a brief sketch of the history of the children of Israel from Egypt to Canaan.
I. Pharaoh Tried to Intimidate Israel Away from the very Thought of God and Religion
1. Exodus 5:1-9
2. He said that Moses’ message of salvation was only “vain words.” Useless, nothing to it.
3. The Devil is using this same method with people today. He tries to frighten away because of what others might think or say. Proverbs 29:25
4. He blinds the mind. He is a liar, 2 Corinthians 4:3-4
II. Pharoah Offered Them a False Religion
1. Exodus 8:25
2. Pharaoh said, “Stay with me and serve God.”
3. No man can serve God and remain in the devil's territory.
b. Matthew 6:24
4. If Israel offered sacrifice to God, she must get out of Egypt.
5. If men are to serve Christ they must break with the world, 2 Corinthians 6:17
III. Pharoah Offered Them a Compromise Religion.
1. Exodus 8:28
2. Since nothing else will do, you must get religion.
3. Get just as little as possible.
4. Be a borderline Christian. That is what Satan tells us.
5. One reason for the condition of the world today is too many borderline Christians.
6. Titus 1:16
IV. Pharoah Offered Them a Religion that Excluded Their Loved Ones
1. Get religion yourselves but say nothing about it to your family. Many today are doing just that.
2. Salvation is a family affair, Acts 16:31.
3. Luke 16, those in hell are more concerned than some that are living and professing Christ.
4. Moses wouldn't accept this closed mouth religion, neither will I.
V. Pharoah Offered a Religion without Sacrifice
2. Go and worship, but without a sacrifice. You don't have to have a bloody religion.
3. Hebrews 9:22, no forgiveness of sins without a blood sacrifice. Do not be deceived.
4. Leviticus 17:11, blood that makes the atonement. Galatians 2:21
5. John 14:6, one way to heaven, through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
6. Satan will offer you all kinds of counterfeits and false religions. Do not settle for that which ends in hell.
7. Come today and accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
