Summary: What are we going to do when we come to the end of our rope? God has a plan! His unseen hands can reach down...

AT THE END OF THE ROPE? TRY HOPE!

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

Did you hear about the boy that lived in the ALPS of Switzerland? He would go out on the porch and yell, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU! In a few seconds the words echoed back: I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU! He would feel so special. He would do this several times a day. One day his Mom corrected him and in anger he when out on the porch and yelled in a bitter, mean way: I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! The boy was crying and ran in and told his Mom, the man in the mountain just told me he hated me? Wow, what is the lesson? LIFE MIGHT HAVE A MIRROR EFFECT?

OFTEN THE BOTTOM LINE IS TO IMPROVE AND CHANGE. THIS IS BIRTHED IN YOUR EFFORT/WORK!

When I started teaching I was so frustrated by my weaker students. An older teacher must have observed my frustration and Edith Walton told me out in the hall. MR. HUGHES, DO YOUR BEST AND FORGET THE REST. Her words still ring in my ears. I love to fix problems. But I can’t always “FIX IT.”

I must learn to apply myself with effort and TRUST THE UNSEEN HANDS OF A MIGHTY GOD… Quit looking backwards, forget it and GET UP and TRY AGAIN. God is a rewarder of those that are diligent. Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

WE CANNOT CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL WITHOUT REAL HOPE.

Romans 5:4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

Be honest are you a pessimist or an optimist? Ever heard: Blessed is he that expects nothing, he shall receive what he expected. Do you see the need of SELF-IMPROVEMENT? Will we ever realize we are a SUM TOTAL OF OUR DAILY CHOICES? Which is more expensive a small dream or a large dream? Why?

THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE… today can be a new beginning… A DO OVER!

Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

We must not allow fear and worry to play mind games with our emotions. God’s grace and mercy are the constant we must focus on… Everything will be AOK. We must PERSIST, HANG ON…

WHEN WE LOSE SIGHT OF THE GOAL THE POWER OF THE OBSTACLE LOOMS LARGER AND LARGER.

1 Samuel 17:16 And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.

WE FACE MANY GREAT OBSTACLES THHAT CAN DESTROY US OR BE GREAT OPPORTUNIES. ONE OF THE GREATEST OPPORTUNITIES CAN BE GAINED BY KEEP SIGHT OF THE GOAL.

The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. Our enemies desire to hide the goal from our visual field. DO WE UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE IN PROFANE AND REAL PRIORITIES? WHAT ARE YOU INVESTING YOUR TIME IN DOING?

HE WHO IS PADDLING THE CANOE IS NOT ROCKING THE BOAT. Are we climbing up the ladder?

WE ARE A PECULIAR (two words in Greek: CIRCLE, DOT: TO BE TOTALLY SUBMERGED IN THE CIRCLE OF GOD. TO BE SPECIAL AND LOVED BY GOD. A $12 pair of Micheal Jackson’s gloves sold for $60,000 in auction. They could prove Jackson’s hand had been in them.

DO WE UNDERSTAND YOU CAN NOT RUN AWAY FROM YOUR PROBLEMS AND TRIALS? THE WORLD WILL KNOW GOD IS GOD!

1 Samuel 17:48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.

We must face the giants face to face, knowing in Jesus we live and move and have our being. DEAL WITH LIFE THE BEST YOU CAN? If you get lemons, make lemonade?

GRAB THE SHOVEL AND AND LET US DIG DEEP. NJACOB DID…

John 4: 6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

WE MUST DIG THE WELLS OF LIVING WATER DEEP. Part of life is going through dry seasons. Sometimes the dry will last a long time and we will know DROUGHTS. Spiritual droughts can breed self-doubt and more fear.

WE WILL ALL GO THROUGH BATTLES AND HARD TIMES.

We are in a war. The battle is not yours, but the victory or defeat can depend on your words, deeds and attitudes. YOU CAN IF YOU WANT TO…

I have heard it said: WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH, THE TOUGH GETS GOING. This statement is often absolutely wrong. When the going gets tough the tough tend to throw up their hands in disgust. LIFE IS ABOUT CHOICES… The right choices are not always easy.
