I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my favor from him as I took it from the one who ruled before you.

I will confirm him as king over my house and my kingdom for all time, and his throne will be secure forever.’”

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Become famous in the land

"So David’s fame spread everywhere"

Deuteronomy 30:9 (New Century Version)

The Lord your God will make you successful in everything you do. You will have many children, your cattle will have many calves, and your fields will produce good crops, because the Lord will again be happy with you, just as he was with your ancestors.

1 Kings 2:3 (New Century Version)

Obey the Lord your God. Follow him by obeying his demands, his commands, his laws, and his rules that are written in the teachings of Moses. If you do these things, you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.

1 Chronicles 12:18 (New Century Version)

Then the Spirit entered Amasai, the leader of the Thirty, and he said: “We belong to you, David. We are with you, son of Jesse. Success, success to you. Success to those who help you, because your God helps you.“ So David welcomed these men and made them leaders of his army.

We are successful because GOD is with us. Try to remove GOD and we are nothing. As long as we decide to remain in GOD, we are successful. Success is not counted by how many money you can count, how many houses or cars you own, it's if GOD is with you or not.

John 15:5 (Amplified Bible)

I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

B. All nations feared David because of the LORD

"and the Lord caused all the nations to fear David."

1. It's the LORD who is feared not David

One of GOD's Name is called Fear of Isaac. It's GOD in us, that's why evil men are afraid to do bad things to us, it's because GOD not of us.
