Summary: Though Abraham's tent appeared small on the outside, but his heart was a big enough place to host God and become a resting place for God.

In Genesis 18, God came and rested in Abraham's tent. Physically, it was merely a tent, but spiritually, Abraham's heart could be a big enough palace or mansion for God to rest in. God took rest in Abraham’s heart. Abraham’s heart was a big enough place to host God and serve as a resting place for God. Though Abraham's tent appeared small on the outside, but his heart was a big enough place to host God and become a resting place for God. The world saw Abraham's tent as a small place. God saw Abraham's heart as a big enough place which can host Him. So, when God's heart was troubled, He went to Abraham's tent and rested there. Our outside condition may appear small by worldly standards, but what is the condition of our heart? Is it big enough to host God? Some saints in the past were poor by world’s standards, but their hearts were big enough to host God.

Imagine how much enormous is Abraham's heart that it contained the God of the Universe and provided rest for him. The world, which could not contain God, was contained in Abraham's heart (God was contained in Abraham's heart). Are your hearts big enough to host God and become the resting place of God? Before you can host God in your heart, you must first host people in your heart. This is a prerequisite for Hosting God. You must develop the habit of carrying people in your heart before you carry God himself. Before God comes to take rest in your heart, God checks to see whether you are hosting others and have become a resting place for others( to find comfort in your heart).

If your heart is not able to host others and become a resting place for others, forget about becoming a resting place for God. If your hearts are not big enough to host God in Triune form, ask God to make your hearts a big enough resting place for others, and then plead God for the privilege of hosting God. Once your heart has been prepared to become a big enough resting place for God, God will surely come to take rest in your heart. The availability of a big enough place in our hearts is preventing God from coming to rest in our hearts. If others can find rest in your heart, God will also be able to rest in your heart.

God is already searching for resting places in this generation; ask God let you be one of the end time resting places for God. There is a shortage of resting places for God in this generation. There are so many destructions happening around us. Before each destruction, God needs a place to rest and share His heart.

Abraham’s heart was big enough place for God to take rest. God did not find any discomfort and rested for a while in Abraham’s heart. Abraham even had the privilege of washing the visitors' feet (God’s feet). The feet of God might be dirty because of our sins. To save us, the God of golden streets walked on muddy, filthy, and even the most worst paths. When God walked through the muddy / filthy paths to save us, earthly mud/dust made God’s feet dirty. Because of our sins, earthly dust had made God’s feet dirty. Abraham had been given the honour of washing God's feet.

Abraham was the first person to wash God's feet after the mankind’s fall. What an honour. From mankind’s fall to Abraham's time, he was the first person to wash the dirt from God's feet. How much quantity of dirt might have accumulated on God's feet over thousands of years? Abraham with the little water he had washed the dirt off God's feet. Plead with God for the privilege to wash His feet. How much of our dirt and sin dirtied God's feet? Check your lives and repent.
