And many more.

We are faced with unparalleled set of problems nowadays: The Pandemic, Poverty, War and Terrorism, Climate Change, Drug Abuse, Pollution, Population Growth, Murder and many more. We stand at the Depth of unimaginable chaos, calamity, death and destruction. But there exists a lasting solution to these issues facing humankind and that is – Jesus. And we need some Good News. Christmas is the best world news.

I. Christmas is the best world news because our Savior was born to redeem us.

Jesus was born in order to pay the price for the things we have done wrong: sin. God sent his only son to be the atonement for all our sins so that we would not be separated from God. Without Jesus, we would all die for our sins. We inherited our sinful nature from the first human beings God created, Adam and Eve. While being fully God and yet fully man, Jesus came into the world as an infant to save us all.

II. Christmas is the best world news because we are going to heaven.

The Bible makes a clear difference between those who have eternal life and those who do not: “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:12). Those who believe in Christ are made the children of God (John 1:12). Those who accept Jesus’ sacrifice as the payment for their sins and who believe in His resurrection are going to heaven. Those who reject Christ are not. “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son” (John 3:18).

III. Christmas is the best world news because Jesus is coming back to take us with Him

1. It is the Lord himself that is coming for us. He’s coming down from heaven, where he sits at the right hand side of the father, he’s coming for you and for all those believe or ever believed in times past.

2 His coming means we will be together again with those who have fallen asleep. It’s great to be with God and there is no other greater delight than to be in God’s presence. But what makes this event even better is that we will be together.

3 The return of Christ means we have hope and encouraging news to share. This is why Paul says. “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.”
