Summary: We look around today and see the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Our power bill is going up along with the taxes. Should we fret about it?
Come quickly Lord Jesus and cut the grass!
I can remember before my brother Everette was born I was around 5 years old or so, I was afraid of sleeping by myself because my room was so far away from Mom and Dad. I would lay there terrified because if I called Dad he would be upset at me for waking him up and if I didn’t call on him some spook would take me away.
I believe we live in a world today that if we knew all that went on behind the scene of evil men and Satan’s army, it would send chills down any brave souls spine. What does the Bible say that will happen to those evil men? What does it say we should do?
Psalm 37:1 A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
We look around today and see the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Our power bill is going up along with the taxes. Should we fret about it? Well, we do and it’s hard not to but, the Bible says in verse 7 fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way. We have folks who have been demonstrating on Wall Street toward corporate greed and locals today are speaking out about that increase in our Power bill. I must admit, I don’t like it either and neither do you. What are we suppose to do? Verse 8 says, Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
If a child of Gods is provoked to anger enough to do evil himself. Do you think we could get away with it? No, because He told us to cease from anger, forsake wrath, keep cool, stay in control of yourself.
What are we to do then? The Bible says there are a few things we as Christians should be doing besides losing our cool.
1. Trust in the LORD, and do good; We can’t trust mankind but, we are to trust the Lord. After all we are trusting Him for our eternal destiny so, we can trust him for a little while here.
2. Commit thy way unto the LORD; Keep doing what you are called to do. You can look up once in a while to see what’s going on but, other than that...keep serving the Lord and Delight thyself also in the LORD.
3. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him. We can be sure of one thing, God is in control. Now and forever.
It’s really sicken the evil that we read about each day, children are being molested, murder for no reason, Hollywood promoting gays, rebellious children, immoral living of any and all kinds.
What about those evil men?....For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb
Our Lord doesn’t need a Zero turn...we are going to be caught up the Bible says, as a Dad would snatch a child from being harmed. Then our Lord Jesus will come in the clouds...every eye shall see every knee shall bow...Our Lord is coming in great power and glory and evil will be mowed down plucked up, judged and thrown into everlasting flames and Gods people will inherit the new earth where there will be ZERO evil!
