Summary: If you continue to stay faithful to God, patient, long suffering and loyal to God even when you don’t see results and applause, mark my words, God would one day shower confetti on you.

Confetti

Luke 1:9 “…according to the custom of the priestly office, he was chosen by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense.

A priest named Zacharias and his wife Elizabeth are the main characters of my devotion today. They were people of integrity, pious and blameless but still they had no children; they were both advanced in years too. This is how Luke opens the first chapter but wait till you get further down the chapter…do not conclude before the end of the story. Anybody listening to me? Upfront things look hopeless for this couple who don’t stand a chance to be blessed because of their age and barrenness. The world plans based on things available; however, we must firmly believe that our God can do the impossible and He supersedes, surpasses worldly calculations. Without faith we cannot please God, we need to come to Him with full assurance of being heard and blessed. Hebrews 10:22” let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith I hope I am blessing someone out there today…

As you read about this beautiful couple, you begin to develop patience, endurance and hope. Romans 5: 3”…we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint.” Someone out there needs this word today! Charles Swindoll says, “You may be going through a trial so overwhelming that its borderline unbearable. You want to see the end of the tunnel. Which is only natural, because once we see that little speck of light, we feel we can make it through to the finish. But God’s tunnels are often twisting, too complex and dark to see the light for many days. In such settings He says, “In that dark, twisting, seemingly endless period of time, trust Me. Stop running scared! Stop fearing!”

Despite the pain and delay in their life, we see that Zacharias was committed and faithful in his duties towards the House of God. The Bible says that Zacharias was chosen by lot on that particular week to burn incense in the temple of God. Hey, friend, the lot was drawn and Zacharias chosen not by chance but it was divine appointment. THE DATE WAS FIXED BY GOD! Claps hands for God! If you continue to stay faithful to God, patient, long suffering and loyal to God even when you don’t see results and applause, mark my words, God would one day shower confetti on you.

Apostle Paul said: Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9

Sometimes when we don’t see response for our work be it on social media platforms or at work spot, it is very disheartening and it dampens one’s spirit; however, we need to push beyond that barrier and keep working, because you will be rewarded by God. His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matthew 25:21

One day an angel showed up while Zecharias was doing his priestly duty and said: "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayers have been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will give him the name John.”

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12

What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived — the things God has prepared for those who love him.

1 Corinthians 2:9

God bless you!
