We are here by design, not by chance. As part of God's creation, we bear His fingerprints and are called to be stewards of the world, working towards bringing heaven to earth.

Youth Sermon: Creation

God Created

God made the world. Sounds simple, right? But when this was first written down, it was a game-changer. Other ancient religions thought that matter was always there and the gods just came out of it. But the Bible tells us that God made everything from scratch. That means God is super involved with his creation, including us. We're like mini versions of God because we have his creative spark inside us. Our creations are a part of us, and God loves us because we're made in his image.

Imagine a painter who creates a beautiful piece of art. That painting is a part of the artist, right? It's the same with us and God. We're his masterpiece, and he's the artist.

We're like mini versions of God because we have his creative spark inside us.

Spirit Created

The Spirit of God was there when the world was made, turning chaos into order. The Holy Spirit is like the life-giving force of creation, bringing beauty and order. He's always working to help us get closer to God. Just like the Spirit gives life to all living things, he's also rooting for what's important to us.

Jesus Created

When God spoke, Jesus did the work. He made God's commands happen during creation. Jesus is like the physical form of God's word, the logos. He's the one who made everything. Knowing Jesus as the creator means realizing that he really cares about his creation. Being saved isn't just about going to heaven someday, but about bringing heaven to earth right now. It's about standing up against unfairness and inequality in our world.

The Difference a Christian Creational Worldview Makes

Seeing creation from a Christian perspective makes us different. If we forget that God the Father made everything, we start to value physical things more than spiritual ones, and we forget about human dignity. If we ignore the Holy Spirit in creation, we stop valuing the physical world and start using it instead of taking care of it. And if we forget about Jesus in creation, we miss out on the chance to make a difference in our world and tackle big issues.

Think about which part of God's creation you've been ignoring. Is it the Father, the Son, or the Holy Spirit? This week, try to focus on one of them. Maybe you can do something to make your surroundings better, whether it's your room or the people you hang out with. Remember, we're supposed to take care of this world and spread God's love and fairness.

Let's pray

God, thank you for creating us and for caring about us. Help us to see your fingerprints all over our lives and to remember that we're here for a reason. Give us the courage to take care of your creation and to stand up for what's right. Amen.

Conclusion

So, why are we here? We're here because God made us, loves us, and has a purpose for us. Let's embrace our role and work towards bringing a little bit of heaven to earth.
