LAMENTATIONS IS THE 25th BOOK OF THE BIBLE. It has 5 chapters, 154 verses, 3,415 words, 13 questions, 3 commands. (Dake)

LAMENTATIONS: a passionate expression of grief and sorrow, pain and suffering. JEREMIAH TAKES PEN IN HAND TO TELL THE HEART BREAK OF GOD’S PEOPLE MAKING THE CHOICE OF SIN AND REBELLION. We know Jeremiah as “THE WEEPING PROPHET.” The book of LAMENTATIONS records 5 poems.

The book of LAMENTATIONS is a sad book about the poor choices that tells of the destruction of Jerusalem as a result of making the choice of sin. Judgment is sure. SIN BRINGS JUDGMENT AND BROKENESS. In the midst of all the poor choices, GOD HAS A PLAN. ALL SEEMS LOST. There is no human solution --- MY FRIEND THERE IS GREAT HOPE THAT COMES FROM THE SUFFERING OF THE CROSS. Jeremiah has some great words of HOPE BY TRUSTING IN THE LORD and seeking an attitude change and forgiveness. GOD REVEALS HIMSELF AS A DELIVERER.

JEREMIAH WAS VERY REAL AND HONEST SEEMS ALL HOPE IS GONE… CHOICES HAVE BEEN MADE. HAVE YOU EVER FELT LIKE YOU HAVE HIT THE VERY BOTTOM? SEEMS LIFE HAS CAUSED ME TO HAVE SWALLOWED BITTER POISON…

Lamentations 3:18 And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD: 19 Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. 20 My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. 21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Please forgive my ignorance but we can find deeper truth by studying several different translations or versions of the Bible.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN I GET TO THE END OF MY ROPE? THE END! WHEN WE SEEM TO HIT BOTTOM THAT ALL CAN SEE I’M AT THE END. THE END! WE MUST REMEMBER … NEVER FORGET… WE MIGHT BE AT THE END OF OUR ROPE… BUT WHEN PROBLEMS ARE OVER OUR HEADS, THIS SITUATION, THIS CIRCUMSTANCE IS UNDER GOD’S FEET.

Lamentations 3:18 (MSG) I said to myself, "This is it. I'm finished. GOD is a lost cause." 19 I'll never forget the trouble, the utter lostness, the taste of ashes, the poison I've swallowed. 20 I remember it all—oh, how well I remember— the feeling of hitting the bottom. 21 But there's one other thing I remember, and remembering, I keep a grip on hope: 22 GOD's loyal love couldn't have run out, his merciful love couldn't have dried up. 23 They're created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! 24 I'm sticking with GOD (I say it over and over). He's all I've got left. 25 GOD proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks. 26 It's a good thing to quietly hope, quietly hope for help from GOD.

YET I WILL DARE TO HOPE! THERE IS THE FAITHFULNESS OF GOD’S LOVE, MERCY AND GRACE THAT FLOWS FROM THE ALTAR… ANKLE DEEP? KNEE DEEP? WAIST DEEP? SWIMMING DEEP? YOUR CHOICE! I MAKE THE CHOICE TO HAVE HOPE IN GOD THE FATHER, JESUS CHRIST THE SON AND THE SWEET HOLY SPIRIT.

Lamentations 3:18 (NLT2) I cry out, “My splendor is gone! Everything I had hoped for from the LORD is lost!” 19 The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. 20 I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. 21 Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: 22 The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. 23 Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” 25 The LORD is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. 26 So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the LORD.

EACH DAY BRINGS NEW HOPE.

GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF HIS CHILDREN… OUR GOD KNOWS HOW TO DELIVER…DO WE UNDERSTAND OUR ROLE IN DELIVERANCE IS TO ACCEPT?…

Deliver is used 383 times in the Bible.

**Deliver: to be good at your word, to give birth, set free, rescue, to provide the promise, something expected, to save, to deliver is much deeper than just physical --- GOD KNOWS HOW TO DELIVER FROM HEALTH ISSUES AND TO DELIVER SPIRITUALLY.
