Easter Facts

Summary: Facts never Lie! Facts cannot be manipulated! These are the FACTS of EASTER!
I put John 10:10 as primary scripture but there is not a single primary scripture in this sermon.
“EASTER FACTS!”
INTRODUCTION:
What an awesome time to be alive! You may be thinking, “REALLY!?!?” Yes, I mean “REALLY!!!” Don’t get me wrong! I’m like you! I can get discouraged, disappointed, disheartened and a few other dis’s as well! I can look around me & think, “Could it get any worse?” Well, folk it sure could get worse!
It would be worse if I didn’t have Jesus as my Lord & Savior! It would be worse if there weren’t “STRIPES TO HEAL!” It would be worse if the “CROSS WASN’T BLOODY” that day! It would be worse if someone hadn’t “TAKEN POSSESSION OF THE KEYS!” It would be worse if the “TOMB WASN’T EMPTY!” It would be worse if there weren’t an “ADVOCATE IN HEAVEN FOR ME!” It would be worse if there weren’t a “COMFORTER BY MY SIDE!” It would be worse if I weren’t “LOOKING FOR A DAY WHEN THERE WILL BE A TRUMPET BLAST & A SHOUT FROM THE GROUND OF THOSE EXPECTING!
He's coming sooner than this world thinks! Like a thief in the night to those not looking for or expecting His return!
A day when this world will not hold me any longer and somewhere between here and there I'll change bodies to be like I was intended in a new glorified body!
A DAY WHEN TIME WILL BE NO MORE!
NO MORE GETTING OLD & FRAIL!
NO MORE SADNESS & TEARS!
NO MORE SICKNESS & DISEASE!
NO MORE HEARTBREAKS!
NO MORE FUNERALS OVER THERE!
JUST JOY FOREVER MORE!
A few things I want to share with you this “EASTER MORNING!” We’ve been watching “THE BIBLE” on the History Channel for the last 4 weeks. Man is it great! There have been a few things edited for time that I think shouldn’t have but the basics are there! Tonight will be the crescendo!
I’ve heard some comments on “THE BIBLE” concerning it’s veracity and whether it’s just a good story and movie! Well, this morning I want to share some things with you concerning the “VERACITY” of Easter!
I want to share some “EASTER FACTS” with you so you can refute anybody’s disbelief!
We’ll bring it up to speed this morning on the happenings that day! (tell the Easter Sermon!)
HERE ARE THE FACTS!
I. STRIPES ON HIS BACK = HEALING OF OUR BODIES!
The “HEALING” is for the “PHYSICAL” but most of all for the “SPIRITUAL!”
Peter 2:24 says...
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.”
Isaiah 53:5 states...
“But He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds (stripes) we are healed.”
II. A BLOODY CROSS = CLEANSED SPIRITS!
I John 1:7 says...
“The Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
III. EMPTY TOMB = FILLED HEARTS!
“They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
“I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.”
IV. LIVING SAVIOR = REDEEMED PEOPLE!
“I know that my REDEEMER LIVES...”
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree...”
“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he has visited and redeemed his people...”
THE ONE WHO HOLDS THE KEYS TO LIFE & DEATH IS MY REDEEMER!
“Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”
