Explores the profound significance of Jesus Christ's resurrection, its transformative power, and its role as the cornerstone of Christian faith and hope.

Introduction

Good morning, beloved congregation. It's a joy to stand before you today, a gathering of God's children, nestled in the warmth of His love and grace. This is a day that the Lord has made, and we shall rejoice and be glad in it, for we have been blessed with the privilege of gathering together to seek His face, to learn from His word, and to grow in His love.

Today, we are going to immerse ourselves in the heart of the Gospel, the crux of our Christian faith - the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It's in this momentous event that we find the bedrock of our hope, the anchor for our souls, and the promise of our eternal redemption. It's a truth so profound, so awe-inspiring, that it has the power to transform our lives, our perspectives, and our destinies.

As we turn our hearts and minds towards the Resurrection, I am reminded of a quote by the great preacher Charles Spurgeon, who once said, "The resurrection of Christ is the morning star of our future glory." The Resurrection is not just a historical event, but a beacon of hope that illuminates our path and guides us towards our future glory.

Now, let us read together the Scripture for today, found in John 20:1-18, 1 Cor 15:1-11, and Acts 10:34-43.

Miraculous Morning at the Tomb

In the early morning hours, while the world was still shrouded in darkness, something extraordinary happened. The stone that sealed the tomb of Jesus was rolled away. This was not a small stone, mind you. It was a massive boulder, a physical barrier meant to seal the tomb, to keep the body of Jesus inside and everyone else outside. Yet, it was moved. Not by human hands, but by the power of God. This was the first sign that something miraculous had occurred.

Inside the tomb: Where the body of Jesus had been laid there was nothing but emptiness. The linen cloths that had once wrapped His body were left behind, a silent testimony to the miracle that had taken place. Jesus was not there. He had risen, just as He said He would. The tomb, a place of death, had become a place of life. This was the second sign of the miracle.

The disciples saw: When Mary Magdalene arrived at the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed, she ran to tell the disciples. Peter and John raced to the tomb, and what they saw left them in awe. The tomb was empty. Jesus was not there. He had risen. This was the third sign of the miracle.

Jesus appears: But the miracle of that morning was not just about an empty tomb. It was about the appearance of the risen Jesus. Mary Magdalene, who had stayed behind at the tomb, was the first to see Him. At first, she did not recognize Him. She thought He was the gardener. But when He spoke her name, she knew. It was Jesus. He was alive. This was the fourth sign of the miracle.

Not confined to the tomb: This miracle extended to the lives of the disciples and to all who would believe in Jesus. The risen Jesus appeared to His disciples, showing them His hands and His side. He breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit." He commissioned them to go and spread the good news of His resurrection. This was the fifth sign of the miracle.
