Message Point: We must fix our eyes and our priorities on eternal things.

Focus Passage: Matthew 6:19-21

Supplemental Passage: Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. (James 4:14 NASB)

Introduction:

I. Now Isn’t All There Is

a. YOLO is right, but you better understand it lasts FOREVER

b. Our priorities are skewed. We devote so much energy into temporary things

c. If all you end up with is stuff of this earth, you’re in trouble

II. Now Makes a Difference for Eternity

a. Store up things for Heaven; send them on ahead

b. God’s economy doesn’t look at money kept, only money given

c. God’s economy doesn’t look at time saved, only time invested

d. God’s economy doesn’t look at achievements earned or won, but a life poured out

III. Eternity is a Long Time

a. Everyone will exist for eternity

b. You will either be with God in Heaven through faith in Jesus Christ

c. Or you will be apart from God in Hell

Application/Invitation: Get your eyes off your circumstances and on to Jesus!
