Faith Over Fear Series

Fear plays a vital role in everyone's life which needs to be dealt with.

2 Timothy 1:7 says God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

The Question here is how do we get rid of this fear?

We cannot remove fear by itself but we can conquer fear by building up FAITH within ourselves.

1. Faith flees fear away automatically:

- Romans 10:17 - So then FAITH comes by hearing, and hearing by the WORD OF GOD.

- Where there is FAITH, there is no place for fear.

2. How do we build Faith?

- The Answer is by building ourselves rooted and grounded in the WORD OF GOD according to Romans 10:17.

- The more we listen to the facts, the more fear may grow. But if we swift our minds and spirits from facts to truth, it will build our faith. The Truth is the Word of God (John 17:17). If you know the truth, the truth will set you free (John 8:32).

3. Faith is the Fruit of the Holy Spirit - grows only in the unfavorable circumstances. The Fruit of the Holy Spirit will not grow in us in smooth and happy times. The right time for the Fruit of the Spirit to grow in us is the unfavorable circumstances. (Galatians 5:22-23)

Habakkuk describes how he was shattered and lost everything in Habakkuk 3:17

- Although the fig tree shall not blossom

- neither shall fruit be in the vines

- the labour of the olive shall fail

- and the fields shall yield no food

- the flock shall be cut off from the fold

- and there shall be no herd in the stalls

But in verse 18 he says - YET I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

That's how the fruit FAITH is supposed to grow in the time of trouble.

There are numerous examples of Heroes of Faith in the Bible who went through trials and tribulations yet they built their faith by Trusting in the Lord.

HAVING FAITH AT EASY TIMES IS NOT FAITH AT ALL!
