Youth Sermon: Fault Lines

You're a Masterpiece

You're a masterpiece. Own it. We gotta know our worth and treat others like the masterpieces they are. This love in action is like a magnet to the world.

Together, we're a powerhouse. Each of us has unique skills and talents that can reflect Jesus. When we team up, we're unstoppable.

You're a masterpiece. Own it.

The Biggest Roadblock

Ever had your favorite band split up? Bummer, right? Friendships can also hit the rocks, leaving us with some pretty deep cuts. But these breakups don't usually happen out of the blue. There are usually underlying issues, like cracks in the pavement, that eventually cause the split.

In our crew, these cracks are the main reason we fail to make the impact we're meant to. A divided crew is a defeated crew. So, we gotta be intentional about fixing current cracks and stopping new ones from forming.

Fixing the Cracks

Paul, a guy who wrote a lot of the New Testament, talks about this in his letter to the Ephesians, a crew of Jewish and non-Jewish believers. These groups had some serious beef. Paul tells them to fix the cracks and become a united crew.

Paul writes, "Live a life worthy of your calling. Be humble, gentle, patient, and bear with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through peace. There is one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all" (Ephesians 4:1-6).

Building Unity

To stop cracks, we gotta be intentional about building unity. On a personal level, we can think about others before ourselves, forgive, seek to make things right, and stay in tune with the Holy Spirit. When we walk in love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, unity naturally follows.

As a crew, we can build unity by thinking about the needs of others, seeking forgiveness and making things right, and staying in tune with the Holy Spirit. We also gotta commit to our local crew, being devoted to the church, community, and Jesus.

Commitment to Unity

So, let's think about how we can personally impact unity. Think about others' needs, forgive, make things right, and stay in tune with the Holy Spirit. As a crew, let's build up and encourage unity within our fellowship. Let's commit to our local crew and be devoted to Jesus and our community.

Through unity, we become a crew of one, united in Jesus.

Through unity, we become a crew of one, united in Jesus.
