Summary: Seeking the feet of Jesus on the farm during prayer so that I might one day hear Him say “Well done good and faithful servant”. Instead He spoke to my heart, that if I wanted to be a “good and faithful servant”, one thing I would have to do all the days o

Feet of Jesus.

Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. .

Luke 24:40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. .

There is a place we can come to and not be turned away. I believe that wonderful place is found at the feet of Jesus. From to Old to the New Testament we find wonderful descriptions of events taking place at His feet. What is so wonderful is to remember we can always draw near to the Lord! (John 6:37 KJV) All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Let us look at several of these occurrences found at His feet in the Word.

I. His feet bring comfort to His followers. They found it to be a place of comfort when they saw His feet.

A. Fear has to leave!

B. Fear cannot operate where there is faith and faith cannot operate where there is fear. When we see Jesus, we see the giver of faith.

II. The feet of Jesus can be a place of Peace.

Luke 8:35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

A. This man who was tormented day and night found peace at the feet of Jesus.

B. Over the years, it has been our joy, in many lands to lead thousands in our mass crusades, to the foot of the cross, to the feet of Jesus and see God giving them peace.

III. His feet is a place of Mercy and Forgiveness.

Luke 7:38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

A. Though multitudes have come there is yet room for all who will come. There is mercy and grace.

B. Years ago, I heard of a mother pleading mercy for her guilty son. The General said he did not deserve mercy. She said “General if he deserved it, it would not be mercy.

1. We do not deserve His Mercy. He freely gives it to us and saves us by His Grace.

IV. His feet are a portrait of a place of Hope.

Mark 7:25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

A. This mother found hope for her daughter at the feet of Jesus.

B. Hopeless is the worst of all human emotions.

C. You can find home today at His feet.

V. Coming to the feet of Jesus is coming to a place of power.

A. I remember preaching on a wagon in Africa where hundreds of Africans, in a single service, came to the Living Christ and found help in time of need.

Matt 15:30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them: Matt 15:31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. .

VI. We see that the feet of Jesus are also a place of suffering.

Ps 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the

wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

A. Pastor Allen in Ohio, had a vision or dream of Jesus after having a heart attack and a split in his church. The only thing he asked the Lord when he saw him was why Jesus was wearing sandals? He heard Jesus say" I have come a long way for you and the road has not been easy"

VII. We find that the feet of Jesus are a place of learning.

A. The perfect place of leaning is at the feet of Jesus.

Luke 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. .

B. Matt. 11:28 Come unto Me and I will give you rest...Learn of Me…

VIII. The feet of Jesus is a place of Resurrection Power. Where our prayer requests can be made!

John 11:32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
