Summary: God has a plan for his church. The plan is detailed in God's word. Paul in the book of Ephesians tells believers about the plan of God for his church.

TEXT: Ephesians 3:6,10-11(NLT)

"And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus.

God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord."

THE UNITED CHURCH IS THE MOST POWERFUL ORGANISATION ON EARTH

The church belongs to God and Jesus Christ is the head of the church. The church of God is the most powerful organisation on earth, but operate below it's capabilities because of disunity. The Bible says concerning the church of God: "Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." (Matt 18:18-19). If the church can agree on anything and pray to God concerning it, God will do it. Acts 4:31-32 bears record: "And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common."

DISCIPLINE AND FORGIVENESS

In Matthew 18, the outline for discipline in the church were listed. If the church adheres to this outline and complies with God's standard of discipline, God will own the church and honour his church. Where discipline is enforced and forgiveness flows freely, the purpose of God is easily achieved.

GOD'S PURPOSE FOR HIS CHURCH

The plan of God for his church is to display his eternal wisdom and power through the church.

"God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places" (Eph 3:10). The church is the outlet for God to show his great power and might to overcome principalities and powers. He wants to use the church to uproot the powers of darkness reigning on earth. God therefore has endued the church with so much power and authority. Luke 10:19 tells us:

"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." God has given all powers to Jesus and that power has been handed over to the church. The early church used the power to propagate the gospel and disgrace powers of darkness. "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you" (Mark 16:17-18). The power of the church is far beyond what we are seeing today. The lack of unity is seriously limiting the authority of the church. The church is suppose to be dealing with powers of darkness, not fellow human beings. God wants believers to draw all men to him by dismantling powers of darkness working against the salvation of man. We are to heal, deliver and draw men to God, not destroy them; that is the ministry of Satan.

MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION

God handed the ministry of reconciliation over to man as revealed in 2 Cor 5:19, "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." God wants his church to use the enormous power at its disposal, the name above all names - Jesus and the blood of the lamb to show his wisdom and power through his son, Jesus Christ. There is no greater power in the world than the power of God in his church - if only the church can unite as one body under Christ.

PRAYER

Father, revive your church and let the power as of old manifest again in the church. Bind your church together with cords of love in Jesus name.

DECREE:

I am the church, I will arise and shine.

God bless you. Shalom.
