Summary: A negative person sees difficulty in every opportunity. A positive spiritual person sees an opportunity in every obstacle and difficulty.

GOD HAS A PLAN OF OPPORTUNITY.

ARISE TO THE OPPORTUNITY. COULD THIS DIFFICULTY BE AN OPPORTUNITY?

GOD HAS A PLAN... NO MATTER HOW DARK THE NIGHT ...

TEXT:

Psalm 68:1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

LET: Imperative, order, to permit, to give the opportunity, to cause to, to make, to free from

confinement

I. GOD HAS A PLAN, NO MATTER HOW DARK THE NIGHT MAY GROW,

NO MATTER HOW CONTRARY THE WINDS MAY BLOW --- WE MUST TRUST GOD HAS A PLAN...

1 Corinthians 3:7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that

giveth the increase.

A. Ever weigh how heavy daily life can be? is there any rhyme or reason to this mess?

B. SOME TIME BACK I WAS IN MY STUDY AND I WAS PRAYING?

I felt myself with a large question: DO I TRUST GOD?

Of course I trust God and His plan...

Then I felt again DO YOU REALLY TRUST GOD?

Of course I trust God and His plan...

Then I thought SURE, I TRUST GOD WHEN I AM IN THE LIGHT... When I understand

what is going on, when I am doing OK, I trust Him.

Then I weighed my behavior patterns, my moods, my thinking,my behavior and my WORDS that

I speak? I have really been considering my TRUSTING THE PLAN OF GOD.

***A NEGATIVE PERSON SEES DIFFICULTY IN EVERY OPPORTUNITY ---

***A POSITIVE SPIRIT SEES AN OPPORTUNITY IN EVERY DIFFICULTY AND PROBLEM...

II. THIS STUMBLING BLOCK COULD BE YOUR STEPPING STONE...DO WE REALIZE GOD IS BUILDING

HIS PEOPLE?

Revelation 3:17 (NLT) You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you

don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.

18 So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich.

Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your

eyes so you will be able to see.

Revelation 3:17 (KJV) Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of

nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou

mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with

eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

A. Maybe your trophy case appears empty? Maybe your efforts go un-applauded?

Perhaps friends in high places do not appreciate your sacrifices, FOR WHOM ARE YOU WORKING?

B. IN THE EARLY 1970'S I WAS A COLLEGE STUDENT. I traveled playing southern gospel music

on the weekends. I had played lead guitar most of my travels. Our bass player had major surgery and

could not travel any more. We could find no one to play the bass, but had several choice lead guitarist

offer to travel. They were good. I gladly volunteered to move to the bass.

We had traveled many miles one weekend to northern West Virginia to do 4 concerts. We were all

very tired. We returned to east Tennessee. My wife drove down from Virginia and picked me up. No one

knew it but I was blistering mad. Many had bragged on the lead licks from the guitar, but no one said a

kind word about the foundation of the music I laid down on the bass.

I had a VW Beetle and I put my Fender in the back seat and we drove home. I said little.

Linda enquired of the weekend. I told her: I AM GOING TO QUIT, NO ONE BRAGGED ON MY

BASS LICKS. AS A MATTER OF FACT WHEN WE PULL INTO THE DRIVE WAY, I AM GOING

TO BURST THE FENDER INTO SPLINTERS.

Linda never said a word. About a mile from the house, Linda laid her hand on mine and said:

Martin, you cannot do that? I said: WHY NOT?

Linda said: We owe over $1,000.00 on it, and besides that; FOR WHOM ARE YOU PLAYING

YOUR MUSIC? Well, we unloaded the music and suitcases and went to bed.

C. I WAS A STUDENT IN COLLEGE AND I WAS REQUIRED TO TAKE MUSIC APPRECIATION...

Part of the class was to spend time in the LISTENING LIBRARY. I went

on campus early the next morning to do my listening assignment. I ACCIDENTLY, maybe God's

plan, was combing through the albums and I RAN ACROSS ONE THAT CAUGHT MY EYE.

IT WAS CALLED "THE UNSHAMED ACCOMPANIST."

I started reading the cover... It was about a great Italian tender the world knows,
