Summary: the unshakable word

Intro: over the years the laws of man keep changing and lately there are so many changes we no longer know which laws are still in place. God’s laws are so different, what He says will not change. Not today or even in a million years. He is an unchanging God with unchanging laws.

THE UNCHANGING LAWS OF GOD

The Law of Faith—

a. Hebrews—11:1—obtaining faith—to obtain from God, faith is the key. You can’t unlock the blessing without faith to do it.

b. The just shall live by faith—our very life is a walk of faith. We trust God in all our ways. We depend on Him for direction and provision in our lives

c. Without faith you can’t please God—Hebrews 11:6—we must operate in faith to please God. God desires that we prove Him through faith.

d. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

The Law of Prayer-Matthew 7:7-8

Prayer is faith in action

a. James teaches us that we have not because we ask not—if we don’t pray, then we cannot receive. God limits Himself to our prayers.

b. James 5:14-16—the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man-

An aspect of the law of prayer is intensity, people who receive from God have a passion in their prayer.

c. 2 Chronicles 7:14- then will I hear from heaven. Humility, repentance, a seeking after and a turning away from sin are all parts of a prayer that God will hear and answer.

d. Pray without ceasing—for prayer to be effective it must be consistent. Many times our prayers are out of need, want or crisis, but we should maintain our prayer life to find it fruitful.

The Law of Praise—Psalms 22:3

a. the lord inhabits the praises of his people---praise brings presence. We must do more than a song service, we must have true worship.

b. Praise and worship involves the spirit—John 4:24—we must move past the mind or emotion, and move into the spirit man to worship.

c. Hebrews 13:5—continually—praise isn’t a service we do at church but an experience that is continually throughout the walk of a Christian.

d. In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you—God’s will is for us to praise, and for thy pleasure

The Law of Spirit—Zech. 4:6—not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord.

1. Victories in our lives will be found not in our abilities, talents or reason, but in the working of the Spirit of God in our lives.

2. Ephesians 6: we wrestle not against flesh and blood—our battles are in the spiritual realm. Spiritual warfare is essential to the pulling down of strongholds – 2Corinthians 10:4

3. my strength is made perfect in weakness—as we are strong in the flesh and operate in the arm of the flesh, we don’t experience the power and might of God. It is as we die to ourselves and crucify our flesh, that God’s power is revealed in our lives.

Close: these four law will not change, heaven and earth will pass away, but God’s word will stand forever.

The law of faith, prayer, praise and Spirit-are everlasting laws.

Hairstyles will come and go, styles in clothing will change; and of course music styles are constantly changing. But in this changing world, we can have confidence in an unchanging God and His laws for our spiritual life.
